My son wears a pick in his fro when it's long enough, I think it's great but we got a note from the school saying he can't wear it there anymore...it said:

"Your son's current hair style is personifying stereotypes for the other children, please discuss this with him and make certain he does not wear it again."

Is that freakin lame sauce or what?!?!?! He can wear a Frohawk, he can dye it multiple colors, he can even have it jerry-curled but he's not allowed to have a pick in his damn fro?!?!? WTH! I had a fit, but in the end we gave in because my son didn't want me causing any more scenes...

Whenever they told me to take it out, I pulled out that student code of conduct they made me sign on the first day of school and asked them to point out to me where it said I couldn't wear a pick. Lol They always hated how much of a smart *** I was.

I remember once the principle told me to put my CD player away at like 6:45 (school starts at 7:10) and I was like "but the rules say no personal electronics during school hours. School doesn't start until 7:10" The next week, it was revised to no personal electronics on school campus, lol

I always kept my pick in my hair because it'd always poke holes in my pockets over and make them unusable. It'd sit comfortably in the hair and damaged nothing there, lol.
