I'm sure I've posted in here before, but I must say the Clannad series again.
Watch it for the last 12 episodes of ~After Story~. I'm not joking. It truly is one of the best animes out there. I have never seen any show top Clannad in drama/friendship.

Nyaa, TokyoTosho, Bakabt and XDCC are far better alternatives than that website (Which it seems re-encodes the SD versions, and only offers whatever sub group they prefer). Not trying to force my opinions, just trying to offer better delivery methods.

Don't get me wrong though Clannad is a great series just parts of after story are soooooooo depressing.

edit: and i've gotta say, the best anime i've ever watched was fullmetal alchemist. Only bad part was when it ended ;; i want moooooooooooooooooooooooooooore D:
edit2: oh, and I liked the idea of deadman wonderland, I just hope it got good enough ratings in japan for them to keep going with it.

I have a short list that I don't think anyone listed yet...
One Outs - it's a baseball/gambling themed psychological thriller
King of Thorn - sci-fi horror thriller
Kaiji - another psychological thriller
Rainbow - slice of life with a bit of a mature twist
Freedom - scifi post-apocalyptic dystopia, same artwork as akira and utada hikaru does the opening theme
That's about it but that's not to say I don't recommend anything else! Just that most were already mentioned; there's only so many times someone can recommend shiz like fullmetalalchemist/kenshin/evangelion/bleach/naruto/onepiece/trigun/cowboybebop/hellsing/ghiblifilms!
