In Limsa, on the west side of the city on The Lower Decks is something called 'Ferry Docks'.. Go there and through the gate and wait for the ferry.

Once you arrive in Thanalan, follow the road east until it splits, then follow the road going south to the city. It will split just before Camp Black Brush.
