Likely similar to some methods I know of where one can see AH stuffs without even being logged into the game O.O more convenient to just use this website though where its filtered and parsed to present human readable useful data with zero work on my part.

Dunecat gave them spice.

i would venture to guess that as long as SE didn't take offense (like with the RMT AH attacks) you could just send the same packet as a normal character clicking on the AH of a city and say "Hey FFXI, could you please list me the price history for this item?"
Just like you could say "hey, heres a ping, but instead of trash data, would you please give me your MAC address too?"

It is working as intended, for the most part.

This is probably what you're looking for though.

this was addressed a long time ago, Basically its a sore subject for SE and Se dont really want it being done but since no one says Se dont know how to block. Also why the FFAH crew dont get invited to things :/ . Least that what i remember being said.

They could always fix their half assed thrown together AH system and stop using completely inapropriate protocal for the data and add features..Like oh say searchability. Truth: ffxiah exists because SE doesn't want to do the work, ffxiah gave us what SE's ffxi itself did not. And that 7 item limit has nothing to do with them being worried about effecting the economy; the AH system crashed when it allowed more listings per character and they had to reduce it. Twice.

If it were me, I'd remake the entire AH system and stop having separate ones for the starter cities, which are dead. But then I'd have never stood for such shoddy code to start with.

Star Trek transporters work (supposedly) by measuring the state of every particle in your body down to the sub-atomic level, and then "beaming" them all from one location to another. The trouble is, the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle in quantum physics says it's not possible to ever directly measure the state of a sub-atomic particle with absolute consistency.

To get around this, Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry simply said that transporters employ a "Heisenberg Compensator" module, and called it a day.

Years later during a guest panel, a physics geek in the audience of a Star Trek convention asked him: "How does the Heisenberg Compensator work?"

Gene replied, "It works just fine, thank you. Next question."

FFXIAH can see the price of overpriced *** on AH and the equipment I'm wearing, but can it see why kids love the cinnamon taste of Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
