I was just mentioning the thread flion made and the others that he has made here in this very section. lol Afraid of the nukes.
I wonder if aliens have better tasting sweets... :\ I'm getting pretty sick of the sugar stuffs we have down here...up..here... over..here... w/e...

And if they're somewhere in our galaxy, I still don't understand why they would want to come here. If there is life in the universe capable of space travel, one would expect a life form who developed that type of travel would have developed it, at least 1 reason, to look for other life forms. I Believe somewhere in the vast universe there must be other life, I can't say i believe yet if they've visited earth for sure, but if they had, I'd definitely pick "Curiosity" as the reason. I won't say i believe this story, but to say i believe there is no life in the entire universe besides Earth would be naive and well, sorta arrogant, no? This thread needs more pics..
aliens coming to earth? well then.... Noble 6 standing by.. wheres my team?
but all honesty, whats it matter? in the end if they come here not much we could do cuz they way more advanced then us lol Fenrir.Stiklelf said: I'm pretty sure if something can fly to our planet, in space, without making a sound, it already knows about splitting atoms. And if it wanted to hurt us, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't need to shut down our warheads. Well, there is no sound in space. You cannot hear anything at all, so no matter how loud their ship would be when it's in an atmosphere, it would be completely noiseless in space. That's what I liked about the show Firefly, when there was a space ship battle you never heard the guns or explosions because it's literally impossible to hear that in space. Now you would be able to hear inside of a space shuttle, but sound won't travel through the void. Also, I saw a documentary once about how they believe they found the site of a nuclear explosion that occurred thousands of years ago. They think aliens came here and set off a nuke, or something silly like that. I'd definitely not be inclined to believe that, or the reports of these airforce officers. Is there probably life out there in the universe somewhere? Most likely. Even if the life out there was intelligent, is it close enough to us to travel here? Probably not. Exactly and if they came to earth... they will still be known as aliens. They are foreign , they are not from this planet. This is why I said interesting, even if these guys saw something no scientists can explain it pretty much. What do they know, what do we know. So lets wait on that press conference and see what happens I do not mind :D. I just said it was interesting because they are obviously going to really hold a conference about this, and the truth is stuff like this does not matter. But people are curious, and so are all living beings. Well, Stan, this sort of thing happened a lot throughout history. High ranking government officials from all around the world and people from the KGB and stuff always come out and "leak" information about aliens visiting Earth. The vast majority of people think these guys are crazy, and doing it for publicity. I am within that majority.
I honestly doubt any alien has been to Earth. The probability of intelligent life being within traveling range of our planet is actually very near 0% based on our understanding of physics. Even people at SETI have stated that it is highly unlikely anything intelligent is near enough. Of course there's also the crazy ones over there who say they've talked to aliens. Just for the record, Unidentified Flying Object does not mean alien. Let's assume this even has the remote possibility of truth (Which I think it doesn't). It was the *** Cold War, that Two Super Power nations with War Economies had nothing better to do than scare the living ***out of each other and instigate proxy Wars. This was probably just EMP weapons tests, and if you'd ever seen an S-37 Berkut in Flight, you'd think it was a *** alien too. But these people are saying its been happening since the development of nukes up until as recently as 2003. They aren't saying it happened during the cold war only. Also, I'm pretty sure no country can reproduce an EMP currently without detonating a nuclear warhead really high in the sky. They've been TRYING to do it, but as far as we know it's never been successful. If they still can't reproduce the effect today, then i doubt they successfully tested one 30 years ago. Also, the electronics wouldn't come back on if it was an EMP. They in fact did, the nuclear launch devices were just temporarily shut down. And also, the blackbird looks much more alien than a S37... The S37 just kind of looks like a reversed-wing jet. Odin.Zicdeh said: Noble Team is Lolded (Including N6, Spoiler alert btw)... negative, hes a beast lol, which is why i picked him >< EMP are fairly easy to create and scale down. Also, keep in mind, what you the public knows about current military tech is about 12 tech-levels behind what we have.
You just got your Firebat out, the U.S. Military is stocking on Battlecruisers. The S-37 Berkut doesn't look alien, but the way it Flies is very strange. Using Thrust Vectoring, it can basically fly in any direction and is capable of STOL, though not VTOL. A common person would say "That is impossible for a manned aircraft" with no second thought. Now, while I firmly believe that there is other intelligent life in the galaxy (Statistics just doesn't allow it any other way) I simply can't believe that there has been contact with one, ever. The time-size scale of the Galaxy (Let's not even get started on the universe) is just too large to even begin to think otherwise, without the anal probe to back it up. And if you think the United States Government is above *** with it's own military, you're wrong. It would surprise me even less, if it was an internal "JUST CHECKIN LOL" thing. This Aircraft accounted for 90% of UFO sightings in the early turn of the century. Some profile shots, one could easily see why. (YF-23 Black Widow II) It's kind of dumb to test something like that on anyone though. Messing with a nuke is a dumb thing to do, even if you're trying to find ways to disable them. What happens if you trigger it on accident?
And yea, I know what you mean with the S-37. The F-18 can turn its engines for some very interesting flight patterns. I saw several of them in an airshow, was pretty amazing. Though the F-22 is on a whole other level. It can actually fly with its nose pointing at the ground, still moving horizontally, it can also come to a complete stop with a skilled pilot and hold its position. Very crazy things they do! then there's this: And as far as the military goes... They have been pretty good about informing the public of their latest and greatest tech advances lately (at least certain countries have). The US for example have released information on several of their newest advancements. Things such as body armor that is as light and flexible as your cotton shirt until it gets hit, the second its hit by a bullet or knife it hardens, protecting from penetration, all the way up to weapons such as sound cannons that can disable people. If they had an EMP I'm pretty sure they'd let the world know. It'd be one more reason not to attack them, lol. I had high hopes for this thread when i saw the title.... too bad =/

Very crazy things they do! then there's this: There's no way to accidentally set of an atomic bomb. A B-52 Stratofortress and a KC-130 Tanker crashed into each other over Spain, the B-52 was part of SAC's "Chrome Dome" and was loaded with 4 Hydrogen Bombs, all were retrieved safely from the bottom of the ocean after falling about 2 miles. There's a very specific sequence of events that have to take place, any Man-made nuclear Fusion or Fission explosion is never an accident. Shiva.Dwyte said: aliens coming to earth? well then.... Noble 6 standing by.. wheres my team? but all honesty, whats it matter? in the end if they come here not much we could do cuz they way more advanced then us lol The difference is, whatever device was used (if any, assuming this event isnt just made up BS) disabled the launch protocols of the missiles. If this tech wasn't perfected before its test, it could have ran a risk of activating them instead. I'm sure the actual physical failsafes built into the warheads would remain active, but it'd basically be armed at that point.
And I agree Tuvae. I always hate how in movies aliens are pretty much undefeatable at the beginning of the movies. They are attacking an ALIEN planet (earth). All of their defensive technology would be geared towards what they knew and used. In other words, they could defend themselves from their own weapons much more easily than ours. The chances we have the same weaponry they have are slim to none. Sure, projectiles are a basic concept and they probably have them, but do they have the same variety as we have? Will they really be able to defend against a nuclear attack? Doubtful. Their ship would go down as fast as stanflame's post ratings. It's simply not possible. Like I said, there is a very specific chain of events that has to happen in perfect order, that simply can't happen by any other means than the single intentional path. This may not be specifically true on Low-Yield (Tactical) warheads, but on high-yield (Strategic) weapons, there's no outside way to arm them, any non-specific input like that would trigger one of the 150,000 Failsafes built into such a device. If you look at human Analogies of "Alien" contact, you'll see that it didn't matter, the technologically superior force always won out. Civilizations such as the Aztec and Native American tribes were wiped from the face of the planet. If you believe an extra-terrestrial civilization capable of Trans-galactic space flight wouldn't be able to snuff our civilization out with a few Antimatter warheads, you're sadly mistaken. Thanks to the LHC, we've just managed to create anti-protons, so the tech is theoretically possible already. Also, what we understand right now to be universal in physics, is any amount of Mass, accelerated to a high enough velocity can contain energy enough to flatten a city. A civilization hell-bent on destroying out planet/race would need to do little more than tow a few asteroids in from either the Main Asteroid belt, or the Kaiper Belt. Another popular Counter-Alien belief is that Aliens would succumb to human pathogens, making an invasion pointless. (War of the Worlds) This lacks credibility for a few reasons, first, the vast majority of illness is non communicable between species, and often when it is, it has very different results. A foreign pathogen in an alien system simply wouldn't know what to target, and die before it could do anything more than cause a mild allergic reaction. Second, going back into the technological difference. Any species capable of travel on the scale of the galaxy would have devised a countermeasure. Nanotech is the most likely preemptive countermeasure against such a threat. Another technology humanity is just on the cusp of using. Now, we can take some solace in the fact that any species capable of galactic travel, likely would find little reason other than self-preservation to instigate hostilities towards us. Resources certainly aren't scarce in the various celestial bodies of the universe, and even terrestrial "Earth-like" Worlds aren't considered rare, though nobody can say if biology developing on them is. Terra-forming is a fairly simple, if long-term endeavor, making the idea of invading a planet with a biosphere already, let alone one capable of turning their own world into an irradiated and useless wasteland, a proposition too troublesome to consider. Anyway, Theoretical crackpot theories are theoretical. Caitsith.Zefiris said: I think a lot of military bases make up rumors to keep people away. To be honest, I think they make up rumours to bring people in xD As in "Join the army and you might see cool aliens" ^^ If aliens (as in self-aware aliens and not the already found single cell organisms) exist or not, I don't really care. But they do make the coolest stories for movies :D Or, for all that matters, conspiracy theories ^^ Is the scariness if this thread gone?
Now take your sorry liver spotted *** back to space, we dun like your kind around here boy. |
