I did list two websites I googled. It's not much but I'm not well educated on the subject. I was hoping someone else would come in and shed light on the topic. :)

I read the entire story. The true mastermind of the scheme killed himself in prison in 2006. The girl, I believe, still lives. Haven't seen/read about her dead. I think the girl hates her mom cuz of the crap she pulled. My opinion: Death sentence - LOL Life in prison is much more torturous than Death, which is why you rarely see it. This mother deserves more than death. She deserves to be brutally tortured, and her death shouldn't be lolinstant it should be long and painful (which is banned in USA =( ) IQ doesn't show ***tbh. Mentally HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE or not, she's old enough to know right from wrong, as do other people. Especially since she's so religious. She killed for greed and for lust (lol deadly sins), the God they believe in won't fall for her "lolsorry" crap. She KNEW it was wrong (she even stated it in the interview) yet she still did it. BURN THE ***!

Where does it end? Violence begets violence. Are we really much better than her if we just go and kill her? There are cosequences to our actions and she should not be allowed to roam free because she will most likely hurt someone else. To take a life though, if it can be prevented, is it really our right to take that from someone? even if they are percieved to be evil.

So says the guy that said it was cheaper a few pages back!!!

Anyways quick read shows the extra cost comes purely from extra steps taken to ensure an innocent person isn't excuted compared to someone given life without parole. Which I find kinda silly. Sure we can take away a guys entire life like that but we can't actually take his life without all that stuff. But sure the sentence is. However actually going thru with it once pronounced does save money

How can you support less government but prevent a mosque being built somewhere. How can you have less government and want prayer in schools again? How can you have better economic results by devaluing the currency? Let's be honest, they just enjoy not agreeing with each other for the sake of it.
I think it's just a total collapse of the political system. Nobody's ideology has really panned out as a silver bullet, and they've discovered that it's easier to get people to vote against something than for it.

So they basically spend all their time trying to twist things into ways the other guy is bad, in order to distract from the fact there's basically nothing about themselves that's good. And if that thing you're accusing the other guy of, is the very thing you did a few weeks ago, well... no matter, as long as people don't remember for the election.

The worst step is news as infotainment, or misinfotainment as the case may be. Now you don't even need to be confronted with the other side at all if you don't want to. Just turn on Fox, or MSNBC, and get told by politicians-as-paid-anchors that everything you already believe is right, then go to bed feeling happy and superior. And if anyone raises even the tiniest bit of evidence you might be wrong, scream "BIAS!" and refuse to even consider it.

Fox started it, but Democrat-leaning sources have copied the model and gotten just as bad.

People like being told they're right, and will keep tuned to channels that don't make them think about the possibility they might be wrong about something. Everyone likes to think they're part of some fundamentally correct, righteous majority. It feels good. It's fantastic business.

The problem is that no one is willing to take the first step into fixing the division we've made.

Or that those that are, have no idea how to.

We do need to take our nation back; despite the fact that I don't support the party that says that, I cannot deny that it is true in ways they don't really parade about.

We need to collectively own up and say, "Yeah, we done and gone *** up good, let's put this ***behind us and get back to work."

Repost from a blog entry I made, but:

-----------------------------------

It's really sad to see what's happening to the country these days.

At this point, I think the prevailing mood is helplessness and confusion. Tax cuts didn't work. Spending didn't work. There is no magic bullet. We're in a period of great economic fear and uncertainty, in the grips of complex forces beyond our control, and nobody seems to have the answers. We don't even have an obvious villain to blame.

So we start making ***up. We cling to conspiracy theories that wrap inherent complexity in an easily understood package with a clear antagonist. We embrace simple, wholesome fictions of bygone virtue, escape to them in our own heads, and encourage others to join us there. Anything to simultaneously identify a malevolent force behind our predicament, and help us purge our guilty sense of collective complicity by establishing stark but entirely contrived lines of delineation between Us and Them.

Basic logic and internal consistency be damned, at this point. Anything to make us feel better.

The reason I hate politics is because of all the people that can't think for themselves. If you agree with every single proposition your party makes, then there's a problem. I will never associate myself with a political party. I look at issues one at a time, and base my opinion off of what I believe. I couldn't care less which party supports my beliefs.

What gets me is the lack of consistency. The people who scream loudest about how the government is over-powered and intrusive, out of control and oppressive, incompetent and inept, are the same ones that want to drastically expand the same government's ability to swoop in and kill them.
And I guess here's my problem with US politics these days. I raise a perfectly valid contradiction. Nobody acknowledges or even tries to argue it. They just brush it off as expected, (aw, isn't that cute that Jaerik expects arguments to make sense), and move right on to squabbling for their pre-decided "team." Because winning is more important than having a consistent argument, and no one goes into the debate with the possibility of changing their mind. And people wonder why both major US parties are so broken.

People, in my experience, tend to favor their own views and rarely think about how contridictory they are as long as they fall in line with their own morals/way of life. Your example is a good one. People, in general, also don't seem to put much wieght on things that don't affect them personally. I for one fall victim to that at times because you never really know what you'll do/say/think/feel unless your in the situation. I know I have thought I'd act a certain way at times but when it came down to it and it was right in front of my face things are different.

Basically though we live in a society that seems to be dominated by this mentality of we want everything and we want it our way specifically. With that comes many contradictions. People want those deemed evil by society to pay and when it comes their turn to face the piper think it should be different.

Major political parties just seem to pander to what they think the general public wants to hear.

There is always more than one side to a story and as cliche as it is very little is black and white. Life seems to be a give and take. If you advocate one thing be sure you know what your promoting. Its like the few radical pro-lifers out there that actually go out and kill people because they they do something that is thought to be morally wrong and murder though is gennerally accepted by the public. How can a persons argument be held valid if they contrdict it so vehemently with thier actions?
