Oh God. I ****ing hate you.
I tried soooooooooooooooooo hard to beat this guy AND steal his shadow absorbing armor (handy when facing Ozma) while maintaining enough time to make it to Garnet before being sacrificed. He pretty much owned me every time with that AOE page storm move.
Was significantly easier on the third disc when Bahamut is wreaking havoc.

It's a figure of speech that means any sword move that's so powerful, and so sharp, it could conceivably cleanly cut other metal. What is your favorite food?

So at this point, you have no intentions of ever coming back to FFXI Jaerik? (seeing as there are new add-ons/updates etc.)
Have you considered the possibility of playing FFXI again?
I realize you stopped playing it years ago, but I've seen people come back... you never know.

Edit: Er.. not the first disk. xD The first time I had the chance is what I meant. :p

Perhaps he shows some interest in XIV?
Although from what I have experienced with the beta, it is extremely frustrating and complex. Enough to not bother with it until things have sorted out with new content/economy stabilization etc.

Yup. Tantarian on the second disk was a ***. That gear was actually good up to the end assuming you used Vivi too. I didn't like using Pumice pieces personally for shadow absorption so I used it on most my party.
I actually managed to beat Ozma without obtaining the small animals the first time through lol.

I realize you stopped playing it years ago, but I've seen people come back... you never know. Nah, once I decided I was done, I was done. I'd be too far behind to be happy if I went back now. Plus, I no longer have the free time to really be competitive.
FFXI is a game designed around time investment as the only real currency, and it's the one thing I have in very short supply.
I'm very excited for XIV because I might be able to get back into things, in a game that's more casual-friendly. But so far I'm pretty disappointed in the beta.

He was near impossible unless you were severely over-levelled. It didn't come down to skill, he could simply output too much damage.

Another thing that always kicked my ***: Yans.

Ozma wasn't hard to me because I had that "counter magic" ability that allows to cast the same magic the foe uses on ya. ><; He went down pretty easy for me around level 45 ish. (used magic def set up :\)

Heh, that actually might be the one question I can't give a straight answer for. It's a trade secret, and being coy about it is how we prevent other people from setting up competitor sites. A number of smart people have already guessed the answer, although we can never publicly confirm or deny it.
Suffice to say, no, we do not have mules standing around at every auction house. Although I will keep a slight air of mystery about it by saying we do have accounts on every server, and that's an important part of what we do.
That's completely understandable.
At least now I know why I don't know how it works. lol

Oh Jaerik, have you ever had Kobe beef before? Is the real thing as amazing as the hype around it portrays? I'm skeptical of blowing $50+ for a little thing of it; and frankly in all probability it would turn out to be imitation Kobe beef.

Yans were *** due to snort mainly for me lol. They'd snort 3 people away and virus the last.
Oh good, I just beat that almost impossible fight with no exp awarded....

Fenrir.Shallow said: So you can surf right? Good at it or do you wipeout? :p I'm reasonably good. I was on the varsity surf team in high school. (Yes, we had a surf team. No, we did not have a football team.)
I'm certainly nowhere near as good as some of my friends though. I never really kept up with it like they did, mostly because I'm a complete pussy for cold water, and unless conditions are just perfect, surfing can have a pretty poor effort/reward ratio.
I did take our game studio out for surf lessons awhile back, though. I think I posted a pic of it once.

It certainly seems like something you have to legitimately love and enjoy with a burning passion to carry through intensely with intent of using it as a tool for a career.
Although someday I would love to learn how to surf without making a total *** of myself like I probably would doing anything that requires a degree of balance and precision.

The problem is, real Kobe beef is mostly a product of how and where the cattle are raised. It's only partially due to the stock. When you have "Kobe beef" outside of Kobe, (even in other parts of Japan), it's from cows that descended from Kobe stock, but were raised by other methods. That means it's typically better than average, but usually not worth the price.
Actual Kobe beef is easily worth the typical $200+ a steak.

Yeah, I read an article on it and was astounded to see how selective the stock of cattle were along with rather interesting choice of feed, including beer I believe?
Someday I'll dish out the extra cash to even come remotely close to it. Just need a special occasion to revolve it around.

Sadly I'm still recovering from my angst ridden teenage years and deteriorating self-esteem in combination with a very nasty fallout with previous ex girlfriends.
Slowly but surely getting back on my feet mentally and financially.

Thanks, that's interesting.
What I mean by opportunities, is what do you want to end up as? And by threats, what could stop you attaining that goal.
Well, since we kind of went overboard asking Jaerik questions, I figure we may as well have a topic devoted to our billion questions to the mods and admins.
Please, to keep it neat, address who you want to ask (or the group), keep it tactful, and play nice.
I'll start us off.
