As being a native to Shiva for about 8+ years, Derf has been the lovable yet annoying mascot for our entire server for many years. Making lovable videos of him trying to get a party in valkurm dunes, despite being level who-knows-what and wearing santa gear. Also making up random songs to make everyone's ears bleed. He quickly became a fairly recognizable EGLS's (Zenmetsu I think?) adopted mascot.
He's definitely a type of personality you either absolutely love or hate.

I've actually been taking a break from serious relationships for the last few years though. Just stuff for fun. Focusing on my career and recovering from a string of relationships that went south because the women involved suddenly decided, quite independently of me, that men were the source of all evil in the world.

Used to from what I can tell. Sadly it was one of those end game linkshells spawned from a notorious *** of the server known widely for pissing everyone off, ninja lotting, constantly account jumping due to being banned via gil buying/selling/botting, etc.
Which of course spawned a community of like minded people making a lasting negative impression on shiva's endgame scene. Luckily they pretty much vanished over time. I can't tell what exactly happened to them as I have a 9 month gap in playing from when they were last active.
Strangely it wasn't so much the people directly that were horrible, but rather the grave tactics they resorted to to alienate others to their own ends. Somewhat difficult to explain that one.

I have a question which I've been wanting to ask for a while now (I've also haven't been able to find the answer on the site lol):
How does ffxiah.com capture the price histories on each individual item for each server on ffxi?
I know it's stupid but I used to think you had some sort of bot mule on each server just standing around constantly checking everything but then I realized how ridiculous that idea was lol.
Me + Technology don't go together as you can see.

Soccer can be slow when watching it sometimes, but it can also be exciting depending on which teams are playing/type of matches etc.
As for playing it, I really like it...but then again, I've always played soccer since I was little so I guess I'm a little biased there.
I used to play every day, but these days I haven't had much time to practice, due to college/work etc...but oh well, that is life.

And yeah, soccer's incredibly popular in Japan. I was over there when they had the joint World Cup between Japan and South Korea, and it was insane. Just as insane, or more, than when the Olympics were in Nagano.
I bet, must have been very nice.

I'm curious as to the definition now. I kept clear due to the linkshell creator quickly gaining influence over my previously lovable and light-hearted sky linkshell.

It's a trade secret, and being coy about it is how we prevent other people from setting up competitor sites. A number of smart people have already guessed the answer, although we can never publicly confirm or deny it.
Suffice to say, no, we do not have mules standing around at every auction house. Although I will keep a slight air of mystery about it by saying we do have accounts on every server, and that's an important part of what we do.

It's Artemicion! The only purple moogle known throughout all Final Fantasy games. He originated in IX being the administrator of MogNet mail delivery services; but alas victimized his own business through his vice of vanity by using up all the mail sorting machine's engine grease to make his fur soft; thus comes Zidane's side-quest to bring the business back into action.
He also appeared in Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles for the Gamecube; although I know little to nothing about his role in that game as I never owned a gamecube and a buddy of mine rented it to try it. Both of us became rather bored with it quickly.

It literally means "complete destruction," with the implied meaning of "to the last man." But in FF, it's almost always in reference to yourself, not something you really visit on others. (Although it can be either in common usage.)
In Japanese, such a name for a HNM LS would be taken as a tongue in cheek and amusing attempt at self-deprecation.

I suppose it would be fitting that such a group of people would make a linkshell with a name contrary to a high level linkshell's objectives. But quite amusing to know what it all means now.

Zantetsuken (斬鉄剣) literally means "iron-cutting sword."
It's a figure of speech that means any sword move that's so powerful, and so sharp, it could conceivably cleanly cut other metal.
Renzokuken (連続剣) literally means "repeating sword."
It's just a reference to any sword move that repeats in rapid succession.
Well, since we kind of went overboard asking Jaerik questions, I figure we may as well have a topic devoted to our billion questions to the mods and admins.
Please, to keep it neat, address who you want to ask (or the group), keep it tactful, and play nice.
I'll start us off.
Jaerik: Do you follow my story? :3
