No. It is. It's the most versatile DD and can do more damage than a DRK easily. Assuming the SAM and DRK are equally geared a SAM will pull past a DRK in nearly every situation. It can spam WS more, it's WS generally do more damage and they can self skill chain for more DMG again.

Versatile doesn't make it the best, DRK's deal more damage than SAM with every swing, they have more or less the same Delay on top of that, and when SAM'S don't miss skillchains, they deal less than one DRK/PLD combo can do, not to mention Magic Burst which most DRK's are scared, or too stupid to use..

I...I don't even know what to say. There's math to prove you wrong, I'd find it if I could be bothered. A SAM who knows how to play the job will out DD a DRK every time. It's not opinion it's fact.

It's not fact. SAM is the most common DD because it's like a team-player sort of DD. It can both deal damage, and do something about mitigating damage when it inevitably takes hate. SAM is just useful in a lot of situations.
Almost every DD has the potential to beat SAM. Not saying DRK in particular, but I've seen PUPs almost beat Amano SAMs.

Not even slightly. Assuming the delay was the same the SAM would pull ahead easily due to the fact that he can spam WS more.
Sure am, the English went to war in vietman didnt they. Or was that pearl habour or some other war the american didnt win but sent troops to die in
SAM is awesome because it's versatile, and..

Except good DRKs and good SAMs don't wear the same gear... the whole aspect of seeing which is the best is giving the jobs their best possible setups and seeing which would win.
