Were horror stories at the time of rdms going 1/10+ on rdm maats and all that, and I appreciate I did it in 2009 for maats cap and it was 75 already many years so I was fairly good at the job already. But seriously it was wayyyy to easy for me to believe it could of really been that hard with capped skills at 70, can gravity kite nuke him with your eyes closed and still win.

Most people i knew did him at 66-68. Yeah it was a pain. They had some pretty bad horror stories

I understand people getting frustrated about not being able to level right away, but do you remember the old genkai quests?

This is a breeze compared to hunting Ancient Papyrus, Exoray Mold and the bomb drop unless you had high level friends to help you with it. I rememeber spending days in low level pickup groups trying to get those items...after walking 10 miles in the snow..yadday..yadda. Then again I thought it was a ton of fun but maybe I'm a glutton for punishment lol.

Let's just hope the next limit break is simple (albeit a bit frustrating) and doesn't involve killing nasty high level mobs for items ><

Ah nevermind, I see people already brought up Genaki 1, I was too lazy to read the whole thread.

I'm not 100% but I *think* a few years back they made the drop rate on the items much much higher. I know the bomb ash drops pretty often now. I can't say the same for Exorays or the Mummy guys because I probably haven't killed those since I did G1 over 5 years ago.

I'm just glad I got mine and if anyone asks, aside from my bf, to help them get their crests...I'm gonna run and hide. >.>

Ok 10hrs in sky killing everything there is and still only 2 crest. I do not know what else to do, SE needs to adjust drop rates.

on a positive note our blm burn took some from the people trying to take all our mobs.. so have fun :D

The boyahda tree is great to farm these.. had 30+ people there soloing for crests and was still able to get my 5 crests in a few hours.

skimmers , darters, steelshells, processionaires, korrigans, bark tarantulas, and blood balls all drop the crests.

If there is somewhere with a ton of people just start running around.. no way people are killing all of those mobs.

Word. I logged in to do some trials goubbues + thunder weather @ boydah tree and all these *** where killing the goubbues. it's bad enough to wait for the weather, its even worse when weather comes and all the goubbues are dead ><

was farming crests in the boyahda tree at Ancient Goobbue spawn killed him and everything in the area only 1 droped out of the 3 hours there

The joys of Odin in Abyssea!

I've found a spot where KC's drop about every 20 minutes. There are two mamool beastmaster mobs in bhaflau thickets (the area above the old colibri merit camp) that spawn raptor pets. If you kill the raptors without killing the beastmaster they will continue to re-spawn. A 75+ blm with freeze II should be able to farm here without much trouble. So far I've gotten my own KC's and helped two friends with theirs with much success.
