FFXI - Graphics Glitching

FFXI has been undergoing some insane graphics glitches it has been happening for a few months now, FFXI has been reinstalled, and it is still happening, so there is no issue with the software. Here is the newest glitch that has emerged:

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+

(updated to newest driver yesterday, screenshot happened today)

You likely overheated your graphics card and melted something.

Graphics Card is on its way out, have a decent look at it and make sure it isn't a fire hazard though x.x

Shouldnt have took the red pill.

From general concensus, it seems that the graphics card itself malfunctioning is the most true, and I'm gonna get another one as soon as I can, Thanks.

It was stuffing up before the driver was updated too, so that's not the issue, thanks for the help though.

I've suggested this at least 15,000 times on this site, but one more isn't going to hurt, I suggest everyone running any kind of PC game download something like EVEREST to monitor hardware temperatures on their PC.


Stuff like overheating issues usually don't happen suddenly, but over a while at constant use at a high load temp. Something like Everest can help you track when your PC's cooling ability is being overwhelmed (sometimes caused by something as simple as a little bit of dust) and thus causing hardware damage.

The 9800GTX+'s board design was prone to stuff like that to begin with though, the GTS250 changed the layout, but it's the same horsepower, using quite a bit less electrical power, and as a result, less heat issues.
