Hell yeah. I really dug that movie. Mostly, because it made the vampires MONSTERS again. They weren't cool and hip, they had nasty sharp teeth and ripped people to pieces.
Bram Stoker's Dracula is still one of my faves, and it actually(gasp) combines a love story and the story of a murdering fiend.

That's what made it good. You had this stark contrast of impossibility between loving a human yet being a bloodthirsty homicidal creature.
Unfortunately twilight took that whole part out and just turned them into faeries.

Yeah, Keanu kinda butchered his part. I wonder if the rest of the cast and crew were smirking behind the cameras during his takes lmao.
Near Dark is a pretty good one too. Kinda lags towards the end, but the first half is good. Also has half the cast of Aliens in it :)

Gary Oldman is a brilliant actor, the man is a chameleon. I've seen him in many films and in some of them I would never had known it was him if I hadn't seen the titles etc.
Keanu was probably taught his English accent by *** Van Dyke, or by the woman in this video :P
I can't believe no ones mentioned Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Best vampire love story EVAR.

Being a huge fan of the lore behind Vampires and everything, I find this image actually quite offensive.
Twilight has ruined the image of Vampires for good, we need a DAMN good vampire book or film to be released to counter this cancerous series.
The amount of spin-offs it's had as well makes me sick.

Actually, I would suggest going to your local bookstore and finding a copy of the novel version, entitled "Vampire Hunter D Volume 3: Demon Deathchase." It's a much more coherent story, without the countess and the spooky castle et. al. It's just the girl and the Noble, trying to get to a spaceport before D and another set of bounty hunters catch up to them so they can be together forever among the stars. The movie, while good, adds far too many elements, and at the same time removes some critical character information, so do yourself a favor and go pick up the D novels. I think up to volume 12 or so have been translated so far.
Dont forget my personel favorite, and while it does have Romance(as do all vampire movies) its balanced out by alotta blood and gore

My cousin loves Twilight. I do not. Imagine my disgust when someone made her watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer and she posted on her facebook that she didn't like it because the vampires 'were too much like monsters.' >< The Twihards really do need education on what started the vampire myths, what vampires are supposed to be like, and what vampires are.
