Played him in an Aram yesterday, holy ***he's so fun when able to just pounce all over them.

Don't get me wrong. I think Yasuo is cool. however, he just sucks if you don't have a team that has knockups.

I was with a Blitz thankfully, but holy ***I could dive the back line so fast and instagib without even I noticing.

Yasuo also sucks if you're not good with him (not the same for every champ. As people who are good at the game literally ***on people with Yasuo)

Pretty sure he has one of the lowest of any champion ever released (I believe the lowest point was 30% or so?), maybe because he's actually hard to play.

You may want to pay closer attention regarding Yasuo's situation. It's very obvious that a team centered around knock ups will make him scary, but it's far from a necessity, even more so if we talk solo queue.

Also, most knock backs trigger his ult, making the number of champions able to set him up much larger than expected.

Which, considering his popularity and the amount of people building Zerkers, explain his win rate.

He requires coordination. Coordination sucks in solo queue. See Shen in solo queue for comparisons.

Has season 4 officially started or are people just able to rank up early? I haven't been paying too much attention since I still have yet to try my hand at ranked... I thought we were still in the preseason thing, or are promotions a normal thing in preseason?

You can gain ranks normally as it is. MMR decay is frozen during pre-season so it doesn't really matter if you skip playing. It's a very good idea to grind right now as if you are able to grind, you will be higher in MMR when the new season will start, allowing you to have an easier way climbing toward your true goal in 2014.

I didn't check if Rito explained how S4 ranking will work, as in, will we have to do placements again (see S3) or will we just restart from where we left?

If it's case #1, playing and not climbing is a huge loss. If case #2, then by all mean, grind ranked.

Just keep in mind that 1200 is the base MMR a player starts with, so try to keep yourself above this number and you will avoid Bronze in either cases. If you are under 1200, chances are that you may be placed in Bronze I at best.

Its still pre season. grinding on the elo ladder and improving your rank currently will help you once they nail everyone with the rank nerfs for the official season 4 start. But you just won't get a fancy border if you make it into a new league at this time.

on reddit they had someone post about a formula they were going to do for s4 starting elo.

iirc it was your current elo +1200 / 2

for example. If you are at 1500 elo + 1200 = 2700/2 = 1350 or silver something

plat V is what 1800 elo? so 1800+1200/2 = 1500 or gold V.

pretty much brings everyone down at least 1 ranking, so you can have some type of climb for s4, if they left everyone where they are for s4 that would be silly because people wouldn't want to play ranked if they are already high diamond, and there are only so many challenger spots as well.

so either they are doing the above formula, or they make everybody redoux their placement matches. (i don't think it was ever confirmed just somebody posted on reddit. could be fake but they said they got it from somebody at rito, but totally sounds plausable imo)

This formula is literally what they did last year. People below 1200 were pushed up toward 1200 and people above 1200 were put down toward 1200.

All in all, a top 50 guy in Season 2 after his placements in season 3 was in high Diamond (I or II if I remember correctly).

Your placements will determine if you are actually worthy of your rank, but that's mainly for people in the V-III divisions. Anyone in II-I should be able to stay in their league without any issue as even 10 losses wouldn't put them below the V's MMR requirement. So if you are worthy of your league, the soft reset will never penalize you.

On the other hand, if you're anything below Silver IV, the soft reset will give you a little push toward the starting MMR that is 1200. In my opinion, they should do a hard reset every season and bring everyone back to 1200. This may seem tiresome for people who are Diamond+, but these people already complain 24/7 about their shitty queues and seeing what happened with boosting last season, something has to be done. Furthermore, I think 1200 should be assigned to Bronze I rather than Silver IV. The very fact that Silver V has more people in it than the whole Bronze league added isn't normal. Most Silver people are worse than the very bottom of Bronze V, which is unacceptable and the new MMR system will not solve this as going from 1200 MMR to 600 (Bronze V) takes way too long, especially for your sunday player.

That being said, nobody knows if Rito will follow this thing again or not, as this is the first anniversary of the current system.

Didn't even have to land ult on any of Nami's abilities to produce this slaughter. His normal abilities deal so much damage, literally a monster with the right items.
