my gaming buddy is hooked like a junkie to a needle, I kind of wish I'd have never shown him, because now it's all I get to play with him. When it comes to split pushing, there are many champs that 1) can 1v2 better than him, 2) can lane better, 3) can split push better than him while still having a much bigger impact in team fight (***, even Tryn), 4) can down towers faster than him, 5) have a 1v1/2 potential that is miles better when it comes to mid/late game.
I don't like Teemo so I'm biased as *** anyway. He may not be ***, but he's not top 5/10 in whatever he's good at, especially if you go crazy mode and start using Vision wards/Oracle's as arguments. And when you consider that the majority of people playing Teemo firmly believe that they'll ***on the guy who picked Darius in front, it just can't get any worse in practice. Cerberus.Senkyuutai said: » Teemo firmly believe that they'll ***on the guy who picked Darius I'll rock teemo 7/10 times as darius (he's all I play, & I don't know ***. really don't even belong in this convo. heheheh) Typical league game. Cerberus.Eugene said: » Typical league game. ya it's not Kill Stealing, it's Kill Securing, what if the teemo flashed :O We need to get you playing other champs. :) It'll liven the game up a little for you.
Try Graves, he brings all the manliness in the world to whichever lane you decide to go.
we should take all the new people and put them in a custom game against the veterans to learn them something
lets do it!
Asura.Lolserj said: » we should take all the new people and put them in a custom game against the veterans to learn them something Edit: I still suck, so sign me up for the noob team. I've pretty much just been learning by doing aram, when I get someone I don't know I pull up the wiki and try to figure it out as I go. In some cases it takes a while, like I didn't understand what it meant when it said Vi could store two punches, I thought it meant I had to stack the effect twice but it wouldn't let me. After 10 minutes I realized what it meant though and it worked out a little better towards the end of the match.
Only thing about doing aram all the time though is I am not really learning which champs go where in normal matches, but then again if I am doing aram all day err day then it is all good. Well, as lolserj said, we'll definitely need to do those custom games with the newbies vs. the notnewbies.
As long as people keep their anger at the front door, everything should be fun and people could learn a thing or two about...the brighter things in life. ladada NA server is down :( has been for like 30 mins
i been wanting to get into it again, since my roommates that i used to play with are gone and its been getting 10 months since i last played. probably be back on the noob team
I've 1v1'd a few of my lowbie friends on a few champs to show them how they play, and made suggestions for them to counter-play, counter-build, and harass. It worked pretty well but after awhile I felt like I was just mauling them.
That said, I'm always up to 1v1 anyone who feels like they want to improve their laning game. I'd like to improve mine as well, and practicing my combos will help me. I know no one will be up likely, but I'm thinking of having a LoL and beer night if anyone wants to play.
Work in the morning or I would.

I'd like to practice using Elise (and PLZ Riot stop nerfing champions that I actually enjoy using... plz? >________> cough cough Singed cough cough Wukong ahem sniffle Sejuani). I see most of the pros using Elise in ways that I juuuust can't get the hang of. Each time, when I see them play, I am like "Yeah, that makes sense". But my laning phase is never the same, so I have to improvise. I need another go-to laner besides Yorick since he is getting changed up very soon, and I simply love using Elise. :> Also, any build suggestions for Elise? 21/9/0 or 9/21/0? This is top lane mind you. Spirit of The Spectral Wraith vs Tear / Seraph's Embrace? Do I rush Scorc. Shoes first, or build AP and HP early? Dug up some Skype convo, basically: Guise into Rylai (classic), then anything the usual AP top laner builds so Seeker's, Sunfire, Abyssal. Of course, this is situational. I forgot what I followed exactly on Kennen but well, I guess Vladimir would be another example of build pattern. Various guides that make sense (some of them are jungle but it's literally same ***different smell): http://www.lolking.net/guides/98914 http://www.lolking.net/guides/44034 http://www.lolking.net/guides/129722 http://www.lolking.net/guides/140241 (Italian and maybe outdated, not sure if the Locket if pre or post update) http://www.lolking.net/guides/113820 The last one is especially nice If you want to 1v1, I'd be up for it, been a while since we did last session (expanded my pool since then). Was watching the Magma Chamber 1v1 they did back at All Stars, I really wish this was out already :( Thanks for those links! Updated my masteries :) When I see either of you online I'll pop you a message!
I feel like I will decimate anyone if I adc for the custom game to the point where they won't learn how or what to do in those conditions.
I'll probably spectate and give commentary and advice/tips Depends.
I did a few 1v1 especially on Marksman to show the difference between a full beginner and the typical lv 30 guy, there are things you can easily show/demonstrate this way, such as last hitting, poking and positioning in general (use of the bush etc). You just have to keep in mind that you need to stop after each action/phase and explain what just happened in /all, as long as you don't treat it as if you were playing in the LCS, you should be fine. In the end, I think the biggest thing you can teach in these 1v1s is how to properly snowball. I mean, you can very well beat a guy 1v1 for training purpose, but if you build X and Y item and evolve your gameplay around it, the guy will learn even more. I'll be home in around 7 hours, if any of you is on.
I was telling myself in the shower a few hours ago "it would be nice if Death Blossom Elise was on sale soon". Thank you Riot. Cerberus.Senkyuutai said: » as long as you don't treat it as if you were playing in the LCS, you should be fine. play to win! >:[ but really though. 1v1's as adc vs adc is pointless. because in lane its adc + suppport and its that synergy and teamwork that either wins the lane and dominates or completely fck's up and loses valuable map control and objectives. 1v1 matchups if anyone's gonna do them should do them as mid or top because thats where the true 1v1 situations are in the game. --------------------------------------------------------------------- But yeah the players with experience who do 1v1's should just play a full game out and then after tell the other person what went wrong. what things to improve upon. give advice/tips after. Then rematch, and see if they can apply that information and try again. Its just like any other game, practice makes perfect. |
