It's fun to play with friends. It has a steep learning curve.
If you enjoy DoTa style games then you're sure to love it. Maybe not at first but it will grow on you!

It varies. Greatly. Sometimes it can be a ton of fun. Othertimes you will uninstall the game because you'll be sick of all the idiots/trolls/generally jerkish people and how there's no escape from them. If you can play with a steady team/stream of people I'm sure you'll have fun.
