Finally bought Ahri.
Diana can refresh her ultimate too! So excited XD More goofing off on the PBE.
I replaced Berserker's Greaves with Trinity Force there at the end, and Infinity Edge was Doran's Blade, I had 8000+ gold to spend at that point xD Peldin said: » A guide doesn't really do anything but stop you from thinking for yourself. If you know about all the items in the game, you should be able to figure out for yourself which item would be most ideal for the game that you are in. For example - if you are playing AD ranged... When do you get Black Cleaver instead of Last Whisper? When do you get Guardian's Angel instead of Banshees? When is Madred's viable? Should you get 2 doran's or one? Or none? AD ranged is the MOST cookie cutter role in LoL and it still has some of these situational questions. If you are solo top or solo mid then you have a lot more to think about because your item build is going to vary a lot more based on who you are laning against and who their jungler is and what items they are getting. Your ward placements are going to vary depending on who the enemy jungler is or what your jungler is doing. Reading a guide is about as valuable as choosing the recommended items every game. When I look at guides, I think about them very carefully. Why do they select certain runes or masteries? How do they benefit from it? If we assume that the champion in question is able to solo top, would runes or masteries change a lot? Or how about the start of the build? For example, my favourite champ Wukong is able to solo top. When a champ solo tops, they either go for 1) A Dorans Blade / Shield, 2) Boots + 3 pots, 3) Cloth armour + 5 pots. If I go solo top as Wukong, I don't go for any of these. I go for Regrowth Pendant + a single potion. Why? Because I know that the strategy of beating a solo top is to make sure the lane does not get pushed to his tower where he can farm stupendously fast. You do this in such a way that you can harass the solo top and deny him farm and experience to level up. Against any of those 3 item selections that I mentioned above, this strategy is very effective. What if you get hurt too much as solo top? How are you gonna heal yourself from the damage that they did? What if you run out of potions or only have the Dorans Blade? The fact is that I know it gets more complicated for you this way when you have these starting items. Whereas Regrowth Pendant + Pot allows me to stay alive and lane for a long period of time, even if I get harassed. I suppose the point I am getting at is that I think you are assuming far too much when you say that 'a guide doesn't really do anything but stop you from thinking for yourself'. Only short-minded people really do this. I take the guides that I find the most useful and mix them up and just try them out to see if they work. Doesn't work? Change it some more until I find something that works for me. Guides are useful for the fact that people can benefit from it. Just because some people don't utilize them properly doesn't mean that guides are useless or that they are for noobs. Tsuji nailed it pretty much dead on.
For newer player guides are like directions. For experienced players it's more like a research tool and a way to compare how you play a champ with other or a way to understand a champion you've never played. volkom said: » i heard darius might get his ult changed inb4 thousands demand refund on Darius as a result Bismarck.Faelar said: » volkom said: » i heard darius might get his ult changed inb4 thousands demand refund on Darius as a result It's typical champ fads. Every champ that comes out is either incredibly OP or so off teh wall that people have trouble countering it. Darius happened to be both at launch but people have learned to counter him and his bleed/ult have been nerfed(not nerfed but done properly now I suppose) so he isn't see in every game like he was. Don't get me wrong he's a great jungle or top champ but he isn't seen like he was at launch week. flavor of the week etc. I was going to play Darius last night, but then I Mantheoned.
I still like Darius, and I never really thought he was OP :/ Asura.Dameshi said: » I was going to play Darius last night, but then I Mantheoned. What do you guys think? Good, bad, TERRIBLE DELETE IT RIGHT NOW? Not that great.
What if you want to play an AP tank/bruiser HMMMMMMMMM?!?! I see nothing for Shen or Singed! My first rune page will be for AD carries, since I have like 5 of them. Is the setup suggest there decent for AD Carry?
Personally, I don't like full AD runes. I'd rather have some armor pen, at least the quints if not quints and marks.
Early game AD is better, but late game the armor pen is better, so it's your call (with Lynn Doyle). Asura.Dameshi said: » Personally, I don't like full AD runes. Only time I suggest full AD would be on bruisers. I just run Singed off of full ap runes.
I build into enough HP and armor with Items :O Siren.Stiklelf said: » I just run Singed off of full ap runes. its not cuz of last hitting or anything cuz I don't really have a problem with that. but its more for the fact that its just more overall damage at the start. 1 buckshott from graves at lvl 3 can nearly kill the enemy's team ad carry/support and having that strong early advantage can really snowball fast if you can constantly keep them zoned from farming With Singed I actually use magic pen runes, movement speed quintessences, armor seals and then either magic resist or CDR runes. Movement speed quint on Singed is *** win <3 On Singed I always rush Rod of Ages + Rylais when boots are done. After that, Warmogs and whatever else then. Depends if I want more survivability or more AP.
On my AD champs, same thing with movement speed quints, armor seals and magic resist. Only then this time I use armor penetration instead of magic pen :P oh that reminds me I got a cool singed wallpaper (has profanity in it)
if anyone's interested just pm and i'll send you it when i get home later today volkom said: » oh that reminds me I got a cool singed wallpaper (has profanity in it) if anyone's interested just pm and i'll send you it when i get home later today Also speaking of do want... http://na.leagueoflegends.com/news/diana-scorn-moon-revealed DO WANT!! why do i feel like that ult is going to be immensely broken during team fights
