The point of meta isnt to make a 100% chance of winning, they spend a lot of time making sure thats not how it works. The point is getting that edge.
You can build just about whatever, but the meta gives a better % chance.

I died because my Malph couldn't stop them. So he called me an idiotic retard the whole game. I got mad and jungled my way to a 14/6/11 with a few well placed ganks and general Tryndapwnage. Their Tryn was far inferior by the end.

Tyrndamad's such bs on last hits if you're lane isn't HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE (Even against ranged AD mockshoting spam is funny when they're last hitting, you'd be surprised how many last hits they'll end up missing because of it. )
He has a very quick attack animation, so if you've got the move speed (his is naturally a little high) you can do pretty good.
