Hello,

I'm positive this has been covered in the various Abyssea threads on multiple boards, but I'm really not interested in sifting through hundreds of page to find my answer.

What's the deal with Abyssea fame? Why should we do it? What reward does it open us up to?

If you don't want to read through threads, then read wiki. I believe it finally has the quests updated and most of the rewards have been discovered.

Short answer:
Higher fame lets you do the higher quests, which have prizes of Unique abyssites.
