Tried calling the billing department and the automated message at the start says that talktalk ARE having a system issue, even the billing CS agent admitted they've been having trouble for 3 weeks.. looking forward to this..

lolO2..

im just waiting for fibre optic to get in the zone.. (not anytime soon in my area).

Ill prolly go back to BT when i can be bothered to tell talktalk im not paying their disconnection fee because they are breaching contract by not providing a bradband service that i signed upto .. or should i say "lied to" by a talktalk door knocker who promised the world and gave me a piece of ***in an envelope

L..***..OL ..

on a serious note.. get the calls recorded (but make sure you tell them they are! then we can all sue the *** or report them to Ofcom for providing misleading info when they backtrack and say "theres no problems" ;)

It seems O2 is the winner amongst these 4 ISPs.

Lets admit it, every broadband company in the UK is taking its customers for a ride in one way or another...

Sidenote: The 14 Beta better work or I swear I'm going to go burn my exchange down -_-

erm yes.

you are aware that whether your with talktalk, o2, orange you still run thru a BT phone line which is the cause of most of the problems?!

BT service provider with a free home hub which actually when you get the HD one is 10 times better than my usual router.

bt can check the line, the exchange, the service direct where as the others can check their service to the exchange and nothing else.

we had BT before and we were getting a guaranteed speed and service. didnt drop once.

we have to be careful of the service we choose because of the location.. even bulldog who cant provide a service said BT is the best option because of how our exchange is currently working.. many many engineers have said it as wel

nah its fine.. like i said i used to work for talktalk and i actually saw them do good things to the exchanges which is why we tranferred because they COULD provide a service..

i never knew it was a shite service XD

i might go back to plugging my mobile in and getting unlimited data on my orange contract...

[edit}by the way .. you know i said Bulldog told me that BT was the best.....

guess who owns them .... http://www.bulldogbroadband.com/great-news.html ... thats um... yeh

We went with o2 because if you have even just a top-up o2 sim card, you can get the pro package (UK 24 hour support promised) for £17 per month. You just need to top up the mobile at least once every 3 months. We have had zero problems since we moved to them and that was 7 months ago now.

Rinky, that website is very accurate and has been around for ages. And actually most of the ISPs provide LLU now which means they have their own equipment at the exchange. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Edit: Thanks for the story about your exchange. That makes your case unique I guess? Also I'm not an expert! Sorry if I was acting that way!

He has a point though Anjali, you'll always get better service with BT because it's their network ultimately.

people are over critical of BT because people NOW have a choice.

Wonder if they have ever done stats about people who left BT.. realised the grass wasnt greener and came back..

bet thats quite a high percentage.

just a thought.. (i should get back to work)

i said lol O2.. they offered 1024k "broadband" >.>

Talktalk dotn run their own network either.. but thats a wholeeeee different story.

BT i never reset the router once.. in about 3 years lol thats how much of a sturdy connection we have..

anyway we should let this get back to "talktalk have fixed it" type thread rather than a "MY ISP IS BETTER THAN YOURS" (lol) type thread XD

sorry only just picked this up... with regards to the LLU server.. its ***! :)

talktalk/CPW were the first to install them and it means jack ***. all that means is that they use a server to use the same line as BT AT the same time. the equipment is and always WILL be BT's.

cant go into gull technical details as to what LLU means but its just a pointless issue meaning that other ISPs can use BT's equipment

Well, try downloading Hotspot from here..

It sort of works, you can stay connected, but for how long I can't say for sure.. It's a start however. You need to have it running when you start POL.

Edit: I'll warn you, the connection isn't solid, not even on POL... You'll need to play with it.
