Looks as if they noticed the thread on TalkTalk forums, hopefully it gets fixed soon because this is just silly.

NinjaEdit: I'm up in Glasgow btw so it seems it's a nationwide issue and not just 1 exchange playing up.

lol TalkTalk wont "fix" it.. like the dude said (and i actually said in my first post)
its just a "build up" on their side which effectively just needs flushing!
they just need to figure which server area it is
Dan i think its a yorkshire thing as a whole.. i know three others in leeds and york on ffxi then theres crawlerbasher also from bradford like meeeee

Have been trying to connect all day on both mine and my brothers account. First we could log on for about one second before R0 and being disconnected, but now we just recieve "downloading data" on a blank screen followed by a error code FFXI-3001. It is definately TalkTalk as we tried on both laptops and two seperate accounts. Called them today - told us to switch the router on and off and then asked me to click on the internet explorer. My internet loaded up and so he congratulated me on my internet booting up as usual even though that wasn't even the problem I asked to solve and so I proceeded to slam the phone down in discust...
The above picture should be their advert as it's absolutely true.

Also: Most probably this won't be solved before midnight as knowing TalkTalk, they will just turn the entire internet connection off as they do 99% of the time in Stoke just to piss us off.

Guys, if you have an issue, like I said before, go post in that thread on the TalkTalk forums, I don't think the regulars are too pleased with us invading and bitching about their beloved company. =P
Edit: Also, we need to have a huge British get-together one day.. It'd be awesome. =P

Probably not a good idea to raid/continue to post their forums.
Quote: The forum staff (OCE) should be able to follow this issue up for you and if necessary pass it to their IT department for further investigation. As several members have now all identified this as an identical issue it would be best to wait for an OCE response.
Further posts on this thread now will delay the OCE picking it up to provide guidance.
Kind regards

I'm with TalkTalk. Seems to be as soon as it gets later at night (around 21:00) the connection is completely on and off. Most of the time i get kicked off the game and then 20 seconds later, the internet is fine again. It's starting to drive me *** mental and majorly getting on my ***.. I can't understand why it's only acting up at night and not throughout the day. Leading me to believe it's got to be TalkTalk doing something i'm unaware of.

That sounds bad enough to merit a change in ISP imo..

SE decided to block you guys >.>
<.<
Is this issue solely with FFXI?
I would be pretty QQ if it was just my internet in general, but just FFXI isn't horrible, could be worse lol.

Well people might be semi-happy to know... after speaking with more than just talktalk customer services, they have found the problem is on their end, unfortunatly we have to wait until tomorrow for the engineering team to look into and solve it... in other words... what shall we do for a month/year w/e ....

Bad ISP is bad. Engineering department is closed.. after all it is after midnight here.. go figure The ISPs I work for here still fix the issue if it's a verified outage, the way we operate is that if we don't receive over X(5 for us) calls about service issues in the same town/area it becomes escalated to an outage and the techs work on fixing the issue at that time.
ISPs will continue to rape you for money because nobody really has developed a system that keeps ISP's in check, they give you whatever service you want, if it don't work they fix it when they want to do, sad you got a group that doesn't care about maintaining overall good PR lol.

Very true i will admit, but certain ISPs here in UK have the greatest problem of all, while our engineering departments (Which we have no direct contact info for) are here in the UK, the tech call centres are elsewhere, (usually India) so therefore they just don't have a care in the world for our problems.

Is their customer service in house?
Like if you were to call the CS line would you get someone in india or a local office?
If that's the case I'd start calling CS only when you are sure it's an issue and just raise a big stink.

It's a CS Office somewhere abroad, most likely India or some similar country, and yeah i call if it is an issue with them, after finding this issue posted on 5 different forums i took the problem higher in the chain than a simple CS agent, after getting the usual BS about router settings or it being the game faults, I directed them to the forums and after a lengthy wait (thank gawd the call was free) they admitted it seems their equipment is the root of the issue, just have no choice to wait now until they ressolve it.
Basically.. Trying to log in to FFXI.. I get through to logging in fine, as soon as I log in, I'll start d/cing.. It isn't just one character/account because I've tried my other account to in Whitegate, and nothing. Only started happening today, anyone got any ideas, because I'm stumped.
