I Really HATE Facebook.

well, FB is like everything else in the internet... MMOs, Forums etc.

you decide who you wanna talk to / who's stuff you wanna see / read.

1) dont add idiots to your flist

2) if you already added idiots / couldnt deny family member friend request you have the option to kick / blist ppl (as for family members i explained how you can block their nonsense)

3) theres always the option to not join a social network / delete your account, too.

True, but you can't change the general nature of its purpose.
Which is what makes it so ugly and unappealing as a whole.
But you do have some degree of association fortunately.

well, i don't care what others do on FB. i only have ppl i know & like to talk to on my flist. for me it's a nice thing to see what friends /family members spread all over germany (and some other parts of the world) do. i dont know why ppl would keep annoying *** or ppl they dont like on their flist <.< thats dumb imo.

Filth and unwanted elements have their way of slipping into such things.
Somehow one of these dumb things I "liked" from what my mom sent me made its way into my list of activities. It's quite hilarious actually.

Why can't you delete her because she's your cousin? My dad strongly dislikes gay people, and I'm gay, so I deleted him off my friends list. You gotta do stuff for yourself and stop trying to make other people happy!

I love facebook, it really does help time to pass by when your bored. I am needing a cull of my "friends" though, over 300 of them and half I don't even talk to, and never have since adding them like my old classmates etc.

I have a couple of people who post status updates that I really have to restrain myself from commenting horrid things on lol.

One couple nearly everyday will post how much they love each other blah blah, which makes me want to hurl. And one guy is always posting status' about how much his life sucks, how girls always do bad ***to him etc, or then goes the other way once he's found a new girl, about how special she is blah blah, then when it all goes *** up in 10 days he resorts back to emo /wrist "I should just hang myself" mode.

Suddenly the block button is appealing to me...

I don't get why people "hate" facebook. Sure, I understand if you have no need to use it, but why such animosity?

I personally hate it because it's killing the gaming industry, but that's a long discussion for a different thread.

My Mother deleted me on FB. Shits serious now guys.

Farmville has made more money than any retail game has in such a short amount of time.

Games like Farmville are easy to make and a lot of developers are doing that because you can finish a game in about a month with only a handful of people, then make almost as much, or more, as the next CoD sequel. Without the big budget, and much faster.

Yeh one of my friends (I use the term in the broadest sense) is like that, won't stfu for more than 20 minutes. I hate when people think we give a ***about what they are doing, people seem to think they are celebrities and that we give a ***what they are doing every minute of every day.

Yeh, gunna admit. When i joined facebook it asked me if i want to send an email to everyone on my hotmail friendslist... So i did, so i have hundreds of people on there, who i dont even know and get constant updates from them. Would take all day to delete everyone. So im gunna go spam facebook status for a while now...

While I don't agree with you (though I do see your point), at least you have a legit reason.

Scragg posted a video about a year or so ago, it's like 30 minutes long but it explains exactly why Facebook (And technology in general) is sabotaging other things for their own benefit.

Surely, it's introducing people who regularly browse facebook to the gaming industry, people that would not usually bother playing games but find themselves bored and before long play Farmville or something along those lines and bam they are hooked, then before long they are playing with their kids on Xbox or Wii etc.

Me, within the last few minutes. However, i got my GF to look on her FB to see what i looks like, apparently it comes up with the first update, then you gotta click "more" to see the rest... So its not really worked as i had planned :/ guess i'll need to wait upto 15mins or so for it too come up as seperate status'
