I'm leveling alchemy/GS as well on my main character. My GS was 0, and when I was making minnows I was receiving skill-ups on both alchemy and GS. So I believe that the sub for GS is correct.

Ok folks these items will never be 300 gil from a npc again Good for the crafters bad for the fishers. Ya see this and the sinker are used for the Hakuru, a nice fish to npc with very little other use but needs the E-Rod to catch it along with other Key items. Result is simple, the boats all of them are camped by people that do haku.

So craft your own or buy them on ah if ya cant get them happy fishing.

Im leveling alchemy/GS on a mule, and im lvl 3 in GS.. not a single GS skill up either... Obviously this doesn't even require a GS sub, and if it does it has to be 3 or lower.
(36 synths only alchemy skill ups) no imagery for GS. all but 1 success.
