I always wait for this item to come up as Goldsmithing Guild redeemable, because you can buy them at Dragon's Teeth (F-10 in Bastok Markets) for less than 800 gil. Sure beats the heck out of crafting for 3,000+.
To rising Goldsmiths, this desynth sees a ton of breaks, but those HQs make it a worthy endeavor if you have enough skill, and luck. This is only profitable if you have some start-up cash to dump into it first.
If you're looking just for Silver, I'd suggest buying Silver Earrings instead from NPC vendors and working with those. I personally get much better results, and a lot less breaks (or at least more HQ2s to not feel the breaks as bad).
