This piece is likely to see a resurgence in use, as Tachi:Fudo is very similar to Tachi:Kaiten in regards to not receiving the massive cRatio bonus that Gekko, Kasha and Yukikaze get. As such, this winds up being the optimal Body piece to use for Fudo.
Additionally, this is one of the three best pieces for the Greatsword Weapon skill, Torcleaver. With Ares and Shadow/Valk taking the top spots. If you don't have those, this will be your next best bet.
The Hauburegon+1 vs. Byrnie+1 debate is simplified thus : of the 16 people listed when clicking 'List characters with this item equipped', 13 are listed as Amanomurakumo owners, 1 has a stage 4 Amanomurakumo, and 2 have blank profiles. If this were really that good for non-relic SAM GK owners, I think more people would be wearing it.
Nice WS piece for YGK/Steel Cyclone on things with massive DEF (Kirin, JoL...), but with the new pDif data (YGK getting an attack bonus), probably back seated to Kirin's Osode on lesser mobs where all that attack isn't needed.
I honestly will prefer haubergeon, its my tried and true piece. Idc if this has no -eva compared to haubergeon the -20 eva is highly irrelevant to me as a dd and im not a stupid *** so i dont solo with a haubergeon. and personally anyone that thinks 15Atk > 10Acc for Stp, needs to play a different job Acc and haste will always be better for Stp because you want to stay at the 95% cap. i preffer to have my acc capped on sam to optimize my 6hit build so i dont miss and look like an idiot(remember you cant Stp if you miss). and both Nin and Pld have far superior tanking options than a Byrnie or even a Byrnie+1.
Nice DD/Tank piece. I take this over the Hauby, even as NIN. Better Def(with the VIT boost its almost 48)and Attack overall. Less -Agi (less chance of me being Crit'd) and no -Evavasion which is a plus. Use the Haub for WS if you have one, otherwise use your SH and this. Use your Tilt/Life belt for Acc if you need it. I've used this on my PLD on DC-EM solo over my AF body and it's performed better than I would've expected.
