You can save a lot of money if you buy the ingredients from AH yourself (800k). And with some farming and friendly crafters, you can get it at low as 100k.

As far as the evoliths suck comments. Yes mostly true. However some of these peices are quite decent on there own. Ebon jerkin for 1 comes with snapshot
