I'm going through my rdm sets trying to improve them. Right now I do Einherjar, Limbus, and Sky for events that will stress my rdm a bit. Looking to improve my curing set and my enfeeb set since this what I am doing the most of. I'd also welcome help in organizing sets to maximize efficiency in buffs and status removal.

This is what I have so far:

Current RDM curing

This is what I put together for the best rdm cure set
augments on legs are cure potency and -enmity/mp
Goal RDM curing

If you guys would suggest something different let me know (I would have put AMK head in there but I use it on mnk)

My enfeeb sets I have a question about. How many different builds are necessary? On blm I have a 320/120 set and then a full dmg set. Is there a certain set like this on rdm? Where you have one set for resists and another for full potency?

Here is my current potency set:
Current RDM Enfeeb Mnd Potency

This is what I am looking to arrive at:
Goal RDM Enfeeb Mnd Potency

A lot of questions I know >.< thank you all in advance!

As RDM we get a little stiffed with cure potency, and C1 to C4 are hardly effected by MND or Skill, so a curing set comes down to: Potency > Enmity >>> MND/MP/Whatever.

So my ideal curing set would have as much potency as I can get (2-4 items) and then aim for -50 enmity.

That set would hit 440HP with Cure 4 and –50 enmity. Most of the gear there is pretty easy to get hold of, and the stuff that isn’t could be easily removed/swapped. You could use more Raven gear (feet/legs) to make up for a lack of –enmity in other slots (eg no White Tath).

I used Goliard legs for a little protection and a few item are there to boost HP and MP.

It isn’t perfect, but it’s a nice aim imo.

Sorry for the double post, but its easier to answer in sections.

For the enfeebling, you need 2 MND sets as a bare minimum.

1. High MND set (which you posted) for Para/Slow
2. High Accuracy (a mix of skill/m.acc/MND) for Silence.

Some people like to have 2 ‘high MND’ builds, 1 with a staff and 1 with a wand shield. I only have one, but that’s because I don’t have a decent shield yet (damn Imp).

You look like you know how to design your MND sets, both your current and planned look pretty good.

-50 enmity is the cap.

Any more than -50 is a waste.

Hmmm just used the cure calculator. My set gets 506 on a cure4 and has -40 enmity.

I like the white tathlum and Serene Ring idea. Don't favor the idea of switching my rajas to a tamas just for the enmity.

For the High Accuracy mnd builds is there a certain amount of skill or mnd I should aim for? Sky gods should be the worst case scenario.

I made the above set before the new neck piece and ASA legs were released, but you can do a lot more potency now.

Personally I would drop the waist for Penitents, swap feet to raven or mahatma. That will get you pretty close to -50 and you will probably use 3-4 HP.

For my high accuracy MND build I use my INT enfeebling build but with MND instead of INT, so ~330 skill ~110MND would be a good aim.

This is my current cure set - I cureIV for 479-480 hp. A severe lack of inventory space is the main reason I don't use errant cape, goliard body and mahatma feet. Thinking about getting a Trooper's Ring, but again, the inventory issue has kept me from getting one. Looking to buy a Pythia Sash +1 though, when I can find one.

Edit: still haven't finished ASA, on last battle, been so busy lately ><

For your "Goal RDM Enfeeb Mnd Potency" you could add
- Mistilteinn (10 MND club)
- Karka Ring (6 MND 1 MAcc)
- Pythia Sash +1 (6MND)

;)

Good upgrades! Is there a point where it doesn't make sense to add more mnd? Like the - enmity cap Argettio mentioned. If it helps my race is Elvaan.

There is a cap on potency but it varies by dMND, so you might as well go all the way in your potency build. Save the macc gear for your hybrid and full macc enfeeble builds.

If not Pythia Sash, Witch Sash provides +2 MACC for the -1 MND in comparison.

I assume the hybrid build would be my current macc build but with a club and shield right?

It caps at +100 as far as people know (since Sentinel puts it at that).

Further off topic, and I'm probably way wrong, but doesn't enmity for gear also cap at +50? Sentinel does put it at +100 enmity, which slowly degrades over it's duration, but each point of +enmity will keep it closer to that cap? Until the enmity from sentinel gets as low as 50, all your +50 gear enmity is doing is keeping it at +100, after that, they stack.

As I said, I could be way, way wrong.

Anyway, my real reason for posting was to ask Tamoa, I understand inventory concerns very, very well, but surely there's something else you could swap out to get Goliard body in there? It's just such a great piece for buffing/curing/convert :o

lol, I fully expected someone to respond to that in a much more serious fashion, telling me how stupid I am because it's easy to get +50 parrying skill or any stat or some such.

I just learnt theres alot more gear out there that I never knew existed. Im still totally behind on these past updates.

that cure potency torque is sexy and I think your sets look good. I wont say anything against them. http://myffxigear.kicks-***.org/ still does a good job if you're looking for extremely awesome gear of specific types.

but as a main rdm for all my ffxi career..I dont gear swap to that extreme. My rdm has access to alot of gears, but the most I swap out for things like cures is my light staff and roundel earring. The amount of gear swapping just got on my nerves after a while, Id cast a spell and then half my mp pool would disappear (cause of the mp+ on gears I swapped out of) and Id be like "gdi, I only wanted to cast refresh on myself!". Im also not prone to getting hate when curing and the times I actually want hate I usually cant. So I dont mess with -emnity sets.

and I mainly just have a single enfeeb set, where I just stack on the enfeeb gear, and if its mnd or int based I toss mnd and int in the spaces where I dont have enfeeb+.

I dont know if you're in a low man group and its vital to your health you have the most of the most..or if its just fun for you to do so. Which is totally awesome and more power to you.

but dang, half the time Im too lazy to gear swap at all.

I gear swap a pretty good bit but I've never been much for swapping for spells that I don't need that much from, gearwise... refresh, haste, etc. Most times I don't even swap for regen or curaga 1. More powerful cures and enfeebs that benefit a lot from gear are the only ones I really worry about. Everything else is just fine with my haste/fast cast gear.

The main/sub is ~30m.acc vs 16MND

The head/body is 30skill vs 10-15MND

So you get better accuracy and MND from Club/shied/AFv2 hat/AF body.

And to the guys above, not gear swapping is not something to be proud of.

If you can land Slow II reliably on Byakko with that set, you're good. But, I dunno, they can be kind of trixy. I'd suggest using HQ Elemental staff for the element and swapping out AF body to Errant. If you're still getting resisted, put AF body back in. Reason I say this is because while AF body is a flat +15 Enfeebling, HQ staff is a 15% increase(generally much higher MACC), and you can still pump out 3 MND with that new Reign grip.

You end up losing 3 MND, but get a hell of a lot more MACC. Also, if you have Mahatma body, you'd only be losing 2 MND.

If my words confused you, here is the item set that I'm suggesting:
