Love Halberd 7hit vs Engetsuto 5hit.
What's better?

Engetsuto in my personal opinion, but Love Halbert is close.

Love Halleberd is ~4% better.

Well I did the maths for elite geared SAMS.

Engetsu to: usu body + feet, rest what it should. 17% double attack, and 67% haste.

Love haleberd: no usukane needed. 68% haste and 17% DA.

I took those numbers to plug into my formulas:

95% acc, 45% zanshin. OAT from love= 50% ( cannot proc on WS). Double attack=17% in both cases. pDIF=1.4 for melee and 1.6 for WS ( ie I assume minuets or chaos, and dia3...). fSTR=10 for melee 12 for WS. WSC=50 for engetsuto and 51 for haleberd ( due to +7 dex).

Didn't take piercing bonus into account as it applies to both.

Engetsuto:

# attacks per round=1.13
average rounds till 100Tp=3.66
average attacks till 100TP=3.66*1.13=4.13
Time till 100TP=9.06 sec
average melee=133
average WS=1155
Meditate=1848

DPS=(4.13*133+1155)/9.06+1848/150=188.68 dmg/sec

check: melee% is 4.13*133/(9.06*188.68)=29.8%

Love Haleberd:

# attacks per round=1.59
average rounds till 100Tp=4.03
average attacks till 100TP=4.03*1.59=6.42 (<- 0.42 hits are wasted )
Time till 100TP=8.51 sec
average melee=98
average WS=966
Meditate=1353

DPS=(6.42*98+966)/8.51+1353/150=196.46 dmg/sec

check: melee% is 6.42*98/(8.51*196.46)=37%


Love Halleberd is 4% better, not surprising( think destroyers vs faith baghnaks). Also means tomoe isn't better either.


Now, if you take non elite geared SAMs ( no usukane):

With engetsuto it will have 15% DA and 17% haste gear.

With Love halleberd it will have 17% DA and 20% haste gear. The difference is even worse: Love is 9% better.

Does depend heavily on gear, and the mob your fighting, The double attack from Love halberd would also mean you're hitting more frequent, which would mean alot more misses, and SAM isn't so hot in the Pole skill department, but it's good enough, I'd say engetsuto and Love are close, but i'd easily use my 5-hit tomoe over a love, Especially when i TP Almost just as fast, and for more dmg.

Same % hits though, so that's not really a valid point. Less even if acc is uncapped due to the 7 DEX.
