Can easily be fixed if you put current smoking laws on Pot too.

I'm allergic to all forms of alcohol (drinking, rubbing, the spray kind to clean boards) ... and even pot. Or maybe just the smoke, I don't know but my eyes water and I get itchy whenever my roommate smokes. My point is, it is super miserable for said allergic person, and instead of being "sucks to be you" and going about your day, maybe you could be more considerate and not smoke (pot/normal cigarettes, etc) around people who are sensitive.

no one makes my co worker drink that milkshake and your assuming potheads are as rude as tobacco smokers excuse me but i at least ask if everyone's comfortable with me smoking(weed) if not i step outside tobacco smokers light up in front of anyone because its there legat right ive seen some blow smoke in the direction of ppl complaining

No, they're not. You missed my point. You said "People are allergic to pot? Sux2bthem", but we can't help but breathe. Being allergic to milk is different, you don't have to drink any liquids in front of you to live. You have to breathe the air.

Acctualy I really agree with that comment. I'd rather not smell Ciggert smoke. but I'm not agenst people smoking.

I'm still for it, I acctualy don't know what it smells like, but I'd probably still not want to smell it since I don't generaly like the smell of smoke.

I'm curious as to why nobody has brought up the third option:

Decriminalization

(Some states already do this, perhaps they could make it in all states?)

So far I've seen a lot of opinions but it seems like this topic is being broken down into singular issues as opposed to looking at all the issues collectively and considering the pros and cons to what legalization means in America.

I think this gives a good example of how the issue would be perceived by Americans; some cheerful their family members aren't in danger of going to going to jail for possession, some happy their state is bringing in new revenue between taxation and more police being available for more serious crimes. At the same time others may feel the nation's getting dumber and going down the drain as well as seeing friends/family blowing their money on "drugs" and wasting their lives. I don't necessarily agree or disagree with any of these points, just trying to display the spectrum of opinion on the matter, though there are likely many more reasons.

Depending on who you ask it can be cultural, economic, social, moral or perhaps more and it all has to be taken into account.

Essentially I can see a lot of moral blowback if MJ were to be legalized in this economy, mostly from the "slippery slope" crowd reasoning that it was only done for the economic boon while we set aside our morals temporarily.

Another issue that I believe I saw someone tackle early on is in regard to the majorly negative connotations of marijuana that are forced onto the culture of dirty drug dealers moonlighting as junkies and murderers in between meetings at the street corner. In fairness I don't know anyone that really likes their drug dealer and would be glad to hit up CVS instead of ghetto-creeping down South 10th, but still, it reads like an adolescent "everybody poops and is also a terrible person for getting involved with green-haired women." lol It affects Hemp as well which is really an entirely different issue and completely ridiculous in itself. Hemp isn't legalized because of the bad connotations and the easy political win some guy will get when he links it to an elected official wanting to get your kids high and buy them hacky-sacks.

I seem to be tl;dr'ing pretty *** hard lately. D; Just as a personal opinion when talking about marijuana in the same classification of tobacco and alcohol, I'd much rather see people up in arms about tobacco instead of marijuana. Alcohol can stay, though, he's cool.

Also went to post before the pros/cons listings came up so sorry for that, but it doesn't seem to be taken seriously anyway.

in California marijuana is the biggest cash crop making about 1.5 billion an year in revenue even more then dairy products taxing weed would make a huge dent in the lagging economy
