The site has been updated.

  • Latest topics will now show author colors on the latest page, and main forum page.

  • Linkshell holders (and moderators) can now remove linkshell members from the site's member listing.

  • Linkshell pages now list a lot less data, as part one of a rework.

  • The Ambuscade subforum under Endgame has been added.

  • The Odyssey subforum under Endgame has been added.

  • A couple of dumb typos were fixed.

  • Several other bugs have been addressed.

As always, thanks for using the site.

Unless you already had the thread color change planned, that was a quick turnaround. TY!

It's something I'd meant to do forever, and I had some other changes that needed to go, so I snuck it in. (And I forgot a page on the first round which is why there's a second deploy coming)

I've moved the main Odyssey thread to the Odyssey section and a pile of the Ambuscade threads to the Ambuscade section.

Let me know if there are any problems.

Isn't working for me, probably because the shell has been made at least twice.

This is pretty cool but looks like the shell holder would have to be registered here. Ours of course isn't.

Yep, shellholder only. Sorry. If there's real demand for it I can add sackholders to the mix, but all the requests I've gotten for this have been from shellholders.

To clarify, that's only for removing other people from your shell.

If you want to remove yourself from a shell, that option's always been available in the Members menu.

There's an issue with ls member removal that I'm looking into.

[Edit: I've fixed the issue in the dev environment. It'll be fixed in production after the boss man deploys it.]

It works fine for me. Wonder if it's a function of you being VIP...

[Edit: It is!]

Iirc, the reason it's like this is because there's a front page for mod/admin, one for VIP, and one for everyone who isn't one of those. I didn't think you were going to change that. lol

EDIT: More accurately, you said there were two for everyone else; one with P&R and one without P&R.

You recall correctly, but that code had to get refactored a bit anyway, so I made it more granular.

This change has been deployed, along with a change to LS member removal, where under specific circumstances a member could not be removed by the shell holder.

If there's real demand for it, I can extend the permissions to mimic the game mechanics; sacks can remove pearls, only shells can remove sacks, etc. I went with the simple version to start since I only get a request to remove someone every other month or so. Is that something people need/want?

Out of curiosity, is it possible to put a new first post into an already created thread? I'm assuming not but thought I would ask.

Technically possible via direct DB manipulation. I've never built a tool to do it because it's not something I'd ever actually want to do. Is there a specific problem that needs addressed?

Was just curious if a starter post by this account could be made in the thread below, if it's a big job then I can just make a new one.
