it's not happending...

does anyone know how that 2%mp return from dmg calculated?
can't find more info on BG or jp wiki, only says 2% back.
i mean, idealy, if you cast 99999mp, it gives u 99999x2%=2000mp back, but i think i got like 800-900mp back only.

maybe the 2% only counts the original dmg without buff or mb etc?
wonder if anyone has some a clue...

If I recall correctly the MP conversion effect is capped at the cost of the nuke you cast.

So while it's possibly to have a free nuke, it is not actually possibly to use this to recover MP beyond what you had before casting.

It's the same concept of Emp legs for WHM.

You can get free cures, but never recover beyond the MP used to case the spell in the first place.

usually with how we would do that with blm usually with a 99k nuke comes with like 1.5-2k tp gain then you would use myrkr but yea you cant recover mp from nukeing but nukes can sometimes be free

So even with light or dark arts, will you only get back what you spent and not get a free 10% cost return?

and in the case of Death, spell cost is 1mp + consume all your MP.
It will only return that 1mp base cost.

so far what i hear seems two opnions:

1. the 2% caululation base on the original elemental dmg, means (free nuke dmg)x 2% = what return, MB bonus doesn't count.

2. the recover mp has a maximun number whitch is what the original mp cost.

I atually feel i did get a bit more than the original cost, so i assume the 1st opnion is more close to the correct answer?

If you got more than the cast, it's from refresh effects, maybe a conserve MP proc, don't know if that gives the full cost or the conserved cost back.

Conserve MP doesn't even affect that.

If your spell costs 100 MP to cast but you can potentially recover 25 MP, then the total cost is 75 MP. Same scenario, but Conserve MP reduces the original cost to 50 instead, then the cost is only 25.

Now, assume that a spell costs 100 MP but you can potentially recover 75 MP, then you only use up 25 MP. Conserve MP hits and reduces the cost down to 50 MP, which in that case it becomes a 0 MP spell, since the recover factor never can give you back beyond what the spell originally cost (aka Conserve MP cost is now 50).
