Magic Damage Reduction (For ***where you won't be wearing resist builds)

Obviously this is pretty much the very best (All HQ'd etc) NQ's are fine. For pieces you don't have yet just stack HP on the defense builds (Magic damage/Turtle) and then haste, HP, MP and acc in that order on the other builds(Standard tanking/Atonement).

VIT earrings, as high as possible at the level you play.
Kampf equipment at the end of the 20s.

For a long time, you could focus on VIT/DEF and tank the best you can. Just stay on the look for new equipment as you level. When you reach the moment of being able to either equip T.M. Espadon+1 or Gluttony Sword, go for the one that suits you best. Avoids people discussing over what is better.

I'm extremely surprised that no one has mentioned Buckler Earring. Get it at level 35* and never look back :)

Another long lasting item is the Parade Gorget. Very handy so you don't have to rest as often between fights. :)

There's no discussion, TM Espadon +1 is better DPS (+2 better still and very reasonably priced, at least here) and by that level mobs are looking at the VIT/DEF curve and laughing their *** off. Gluttony Sword is crap.

Also what Anye said, except Buckler Earring is level 35.

umm im tryign somehign lil diff with mine, gothic hands/boots and lev 59ish sword with para effect on it. so far in limited testing it been working good for paraing mobs also got gardian ring for bash and the hospials (sp) earring. theres also a seidl wish bash +15 and if u lookign for skillups/ pld/nin might want think abotu sipar. just ideas that mgith be slightly otu the box.

edit oh theres also jelly ring and the new allied notes campain ring -10% campain -2 % out of it

Gothic hands/feet are very nice, I wish I had them on PLD back in the day, hahaha. If you have the time, farm for them during Super Kupower "Mystery Boxes: Frontier Lands," so you don't have to farm for 3 days straight; a friend of mine got them within a few hours of farming all in one night.

Hospitaler Earring and Guardian's Ring are both nice to get for your Cure and Shield Bash macros respectively, but don't main them unless you have nothing else (and for rings, you'd better have something else XD).

The level 59 sword Heim is talking about is the Dragvandil. I never personally used it, but it does have a higher DPS than Gluttony Sword, and the Additional Effect: Paralysis. You might want to stay with Gluttony from 57 until 65 (Macuahuitl +1--get the +1 version, you'll keep this until you get Company Sword (70) and/or Joyeuse (70), and even then you keep it for endgame) due to the VIT+7--While you should be using Life Belt for the Accuracy +10, PLDs don't really focus on damage, but more on trying to stay alive, hence the VIT.

Jelly Ring and the Patronus Ring are great :) It's just sort of hard to remember to macro out the Jelly Ring when you're fighting, say, Imps and they cast a tier III -ga spell at you. X_x;

Gothic feet are out shined by AF feet, Hands are nice though yes, but also out shined once you get AF hands as well due to equal Enm+ then having HP+ and Dex for landing some hits, both are very nice till AF though.

got liek 3 gothic hands so far with no real efort, but the boots let snot talk abotu them....

Yeah, it's pretty random. I had a friend out Behemoth's Dominion for about a week....

very best? if you put shadow ring at least put Defending too because this MDT set is rather gimpy :/

Cerberus +1 for atonement spam? Cuchulain is way better.

few other choices are discutable (darksteel set +1 instead of koenig etc which is much easier to get also) and you forgot the holy rampart set :(

standard tanking set is also full of flaws, if you want to shoot for badass gear this iron ram haubert has nothing to do here, same for the BBQ ring and so many other slots.

+5 acc = ***. anything where you are "spamming" WS as pld you should be able to eat acc food anyway and pretty much have capped acc.

I will agree though, seeing he has a KAISER body, he should have a D ring instead of loljelly =( that things a total wasted slot.. even a herc ring is > that pos.
