hi all, new to bard here.

i have just goten to 99 a few days ago and prepared my lua file. i am having problem tho with having 3 songs up at the same time.

i set in the lua file info.ExtraSongInstrument = 'Terpander', u can see the file here:
http://pastebin.com/QgBbQQWc

I just finished farming my +3 song instruments, but as soon as i put them in the lua file, i stoped having 3 songs, now can only use 2 at a time

can someone help me out, how does this work or what i need to do , in order todo 3 songs and if possible keep the +3 bonuses from the special instruments?

You tell it to cast in the harp with gs c cycle ExtraSongsMode
Modes are None, Dummy, FullLength.

None casts in your potency set.
Dummy casts in your dummy set with extra song instrument. Normally you don't put any duration equipment in your dummy set to make songs easer to overwrite.
FullLength casts in your potency set with your extra song instrument.

It has been bound to CTRL+` (this is the key to the left of 1 for me)
If you don't want to use that bind you can make a macro with
/console gs c cycle ExtraSongsMode

You can also make dummy song macros with

/console gs c cycle ExtraSongsMode Dummy
/ma "Army's Paeon VI"

or whichever songs you wish to use as dummy songs.

Casting mode will reset to None after you cast (or attempt to cast) a song.

ty for feeback, i noticed something strange. the 3rd song may or may not activate depending on what songs i have on?

if i do 2 songs as follows :

valor minute V
valor minute IV

then i use : /console gs c cycle ExtraSongsMode Dummy

if i do victory march next, i have 3 songs.

but if, i had used the first 2 songs as follows :

valor minute V
victory march

then i try extra song valor minute IV , i won't get the 3rd song.

is there a limitation, does extra song have to be different than the 2 first songs?

I'm not that great with luas, but what I did was just designate a song I never use as my 3rd aong (i chose shining fantasia personally) and create a set for that specific song which included terp as the instrument. Put up 2 legit songs first, then your dummy song to get 3 up, then cast your 3rd legit song which will overwrite the song with the least remaining duration.

Speaking of which, make sure you're casting your dummy songs without any song+ or song duration+ gear to make sure you overwrite the dummy song and not one of the first 2 you put up.

Should work so long as you use /console gs c cycle ExtraSongsMode Dummy before the Minuet IV. It will reset to None after you've casted (or attempted to cast a song though)

thanks libbien, that sounds like pretty simple to try actually.

so the most common way to do this, is to have 2 normal songs, and then 1 dummy , then do 1 more song with ++ instrument and that way u got 3 songs up with the ++ effects up?

is using wind or string have any effects on this?

1) Yes, that's the normal way of doing things.
2) Not entirely sure what you mean by this question, but the only difference between a stringed instrument and a wind instrument is the range the song reaches. This is true for both buffs and debuffs so horde lullaby is actually a great song to swap in a stringed instrument for if you have a decent one to use (Blurred Harp nq/+1 off ah works great).

I have this bind in my lua. Casts my dummy song with my harp on. Saves on macro space and reduces # of macro/bind strokes. Can change the "delete" bind if you wish.

send_command('bind delete gs c set ExtraSongsMode Dummy; input /ma "Goblin Gavotte" <t>')
