I'm not WAR62 yet, but asking anyones opinion on a piece of gear to use.

Should i stick with

Fighter's Calligae
DEF: 14 HP +12 AGI +3
Enhances "Double Attack" effect
Enmity +1

or use

Creek M Clomps
DEF: 9 HP +35 MP -35 STR +4 VIT +4
INT -3

I'm skilling both Great Axe and Axes while i level up, eventually i'm going to skillup Great Sword as well, mainly for when i level DRK more.

Personally, I used AF until Unicorn Leggings (or Dusk if you have those).

Clomps would probably provide more reliable WS numbers, while AF would give that random spike for awesome damage. (Clomps are pimp for Steel Cyclone though >_> seriously I want .-.)

AF till Dusk is what I did, even on WS but that 4 str probably be better for that(As an elvaan not much feet option for that then)

I assume you mean for TP? If so:

These

Then these

Then dusk/unicorn/aurum

WS in RSE until you get these

Argettio nailed it in my opinion. Focus on accuracy around that level for TP, STR etc for WS. Ain't any haste gear cept waist for that level.
Great Sword I'd suggest waiting until you get to 75 to skill it then try to get/borrow a Mercurial GS.

This.

Don't use AF.

There is but it's probably not worth the trouble to get if you don't already have it.

I also used AF to 75 for my war. Eventually made them AF+1 and still use them occasionally.

But since you are a taru, maybe the creek m clomps may work at 62 but guess you can try them out. If you have issues of acc, then maybe what the others suggested may be good too.

If you really want to get into the specifics, the lower your DA rate is, the better AF feet are.

For instance, a 75 DRK/SAM with no DA gear would have x total DoT. That same DRK/SAM with a Pole Grip and Brutal Earring would have x*1.07 total DoT, AKA a 7% increase.

A WAR/SAM, with capped Double Attack merits, however, with x*1.15 total DoT, plus Pole Grip and Brutal Earring, would have x*1.22, or roughly a 4~5% increase.

My point is, DA gear's usefulness lowers exponentially as you get higher DA%, but if you need to get that specific about it, it probably doesn't matter one way or another.

I don't want to open the 'DA has diminishing returns vs DA has consistent returns' can of worms; but either 1% DA is going to do less for you than 2 acc, unless accuracy is capped.

And without a BRD and COR in your party you are unlikely to have capped acc (without great gear and pre-merited skills).

as hume, i used af till dusk, using marine m boots for ws-ing tping in af for DA, 1458 Raging rush at 62 :O no SP, as taru i suggest you to ws in creek and tp in af since taru boots are cheap.

Unicorn will be harder for me to get due to how expensive it is, heca is a target of mine cause i do want for my drg anyway.

I do see alot of WAR75's still using their AF feet, unless they have askar/aurum, maybe what i'll do is use AF feet for TP and macro in RSE for WS till i can wear dusk, and switch them out for heca if/when i get them.

I am planning to do both WS quests for GAXE and Axe weapons, i just got rampage yesterday against colibri and found that alot of fun.

As for merits, i plan to go 5/5 on Double Attack, then work on recasts, mainly berserk and aggressor.

i hear ya, but i really suggest you to cap GA and use GA to 75 , Axe is really easy to cap and RR own Rampage if you get the gear :D i really loved playing war to 75 doing all the dmg in the pts as /sam(suicidal tendencies if your tank blows:D) but still awesome, Agg/zerk/hasso ftw, spaming 1ks RR on Birds at 64 is nice dmg ,anyway
have fun playing, my acc got hacked selling all my equips...., tryng to get it back through SE game data recovery(which takes forever) :'( i really miss FFXI

Bushi.

Ah, yeah forgot about Biast helm. That's a reasonable target if you can get the tod. It's not very hard.
Blitz ring, imo, is a 75 piece for people who must cap their haste. At 62 I think you're better off with an acc ring for tp. Plus, it's kind of expensive.

I never noticed a difference w/ AF on or off. I'd get Fourth Sabatons to TP in then your RSE2 Feet to WS in
