Facebook Connect

I am going to post some information regarding Facebook Connect here. You may have noticed a button on the members menu. If you are familiar with Facebook Connect, I invite you to connect.

Here is what it will do if you connect:

- Links your FFXIAH.com account with your Facebook ID
- If you are logged into Facebook, I will automatically log you into FFXIAH
- You can see what friends on Facebook have "connected" to FFXIAH and vice-versa

Things it does not do:

- It does NOT give me access to your Facebook account. (just basic info, friend lists etc)
- It does NOT give me access to your Facebook password.

Things I have planned:

- Let someone join the site without registering
- Use Facebook identity for making posts/comments
- Alot of stuff, will list some later.

Please allow some time for the friends lists to populate, need people to connect at least once.

Any way we can get notifications on AH Transactions for our characters?
I'd love to know when someone buys something since I generally have Facebook up when I'm playing, so I see notifications instantly.

Or a notification when something your looking for goes up on ah...

Does it or does it not post things to my facebook wall? I've been reluctant to go through with it given my family already gives me a hard enough time about my gaming.

Also, if you're looking at a thread with a youtube video embedded in the top post on the page the facebook connect popup thinger goes underneath the youtube object. Tweak the z-index?

How do I disconnect my account from facebook? <_< I don't necessarily want everyone who visits the site to know my real name, and ever since I connected the site hasn't been loading item icon, rate up/down buttons, minimize/maximize buttons for price history and comments, etc. My status bar gets stuck on "Transferring data from static.ffxiah.com" or "Read static.ak.fbcdn.net". This is with all scripts enabled and adblock plus disabled.

Or what about a way to disable the thing altogether? I've nothing to do with Facebook and the little button is just in the way.

I added a link at the bottom of http://www.ffxiah.com/members/?q=fbconnect to unlink. I am working on some preferences for those that wish to use FBConnect just for authentication or for other features like finding friends etc.

Is Facebook Connect down? It now says it cannot find anyone, and doesn't even show me like it used to.
