Just thought I would make a post to see who all is willing to buy or sell a defending ring. So reply here if you're willing to buy or if your willing to sell a defending ring. Please include the amount that you want to spend or receive for a defending ring. The more responses we get on here the more chances people will have to get good money for their self farmed savory shanks.

Please remember when dealing with all in game transactions this big, to make an in game agreement before each fight or transaction, and mark the time down. This is to help a GM stop people from breaking such agreements.

Eh, what the hell... I'll bite on this thread:

If anyone is actually selling one of these, hit me up... I only posted 50m to see if it sparked any interest, but I'm open to negotiation. I'll go higher if the potential sale is legit, but I'd prefer not to post any actual numbers before someone has made an offer as I'm not really trying to bid against myself.

Thanks

EDIT: Seems I'll have to bump minimum bid to 60m now.

The pop item goes for 6-8m, and the drop rate on the ring is only 4-5%. Do some simple math, no one in their right mind is going to sell you one at 60m.

Given drop rate and Savory shank average price it makes sense that a D ring merc would be around 150 mil or so.

60 mil would be a steal, I hit 800mil working on mine earlier this morning. Edit: Anyone selling for 60, I'll make a mule on your server and pay more :3

I see posts about what this item should go for, but from people not actually trying to sell it... Seems odd to me, but the bumps are cool I guess, so whatever.

60m is an opening bid... The way price negotiation works is one party makes an offer (the buyer usually low, the seller usually high), and then the two go back and forth gradually lowering/raising their respective prices until they come to an agreement that's mutually satisfactory to both people... If I was to say, "Hey, I'll buy a defending ring for 150m," and there's a guy somewhere that would've been cool with 100m, that wouldn't make much sense, now would it? There's a guy on Bismarck right now trying to sell one for 70m, and if he was on Ragnarok I'd pay that without batting an eye.

I just don't see why folks are scoffing at the opening price of an item that they're not trying to sell.

It's in response to those complaining that more than 60 is a steal. It is not because blablabla.

I agree that 60m is on the low end, but it never hurts to try, because there could be someone somewhere sittin' on a savory shank that thinks 60m is a sweet deal :)

You can't really put a reasonable price tag on this as you never know when it might drop. If people have gil to burn (or they just don't care if they buy it) then why not.. sell it for 500 mill and give them change afterwards lol

And after reading this thread, hopefully they'll realize that average cost is near 200m and realistic cost is much higher. Only a severe gambling addict would agree to sell d.ring for under 200m: you'd make more selling the shanks.

Mine cost me 640.

Absolutely... There's a guy I know that went 1/2, another that went 1/6, and some people that are 0/WTF lol

60m is an opening bid...

An opening bid at a fraction of what it would cost the seller for the pop items on average, let alone their time spent killing KB for you. This thread is essentially begging strangers for 100m gil.

True they do exist, but like on my server Quetz the shank is 11 mil. So if i went 0/6 i would lose money trying to sell a Dring. Which puts the advantage on the buyer not on the seller. Most good businessmen know you want to have the upper hand when selling something.

If someone wanted to pay 60 mil for a Dring, i think a more fair way would be to have the buyer and seller split each pop. Then when the ring drops the buyer would give the seller 60 mil.

Are you trying to sell one, Traxus? If not, then I'm not really understanding why you're so emotionally invested in this...

Absolutely, if someone is going to pop shank after shank I'd expect that they'd want a higher price... Don't forget there's also the possibility of someone having one shank that wants to test their luck and get paid... One random lucky pop is all you need.

Of course someone looking to buy it would say a random lucky pop is all you need.

If you wanted to gamble like that, may as well throw 10m at a time at jeuno casinos. Your expected return on investment is much higher.

And of course someone looking to sell it would claim otherwise, so I'm afraid in that respect we're at an impasse... Clearly I won't be buying one from you, not that you're even attempting to sell one anyway.

In any case, if someone wants to throw some numbers at me, send me a PM or /tell in game. Thanks.

The amount of butt rage you're demonstrating in a thread created to buy and sell a product that you're neither buying nor selling seems pretty silly.

You're essentially trying to scam those less intelligent than yourself. It's not exactly something most people are in support of.

I don't know where you see all this "emotional investment" and "buttrage". Let's put it in another way:
To any uninformed seller, be aware you can snatch more than double than what they're offering :)

Better now? No agitation.

Who's attempting to scam someone? Did I ever say "60m or gtfo"? And even if I did, which I didn't, someone has every right to say no. I said my opening bid was 60... Then someone mentioned 120 would be better... Then I'd probably counter with a lower/middle compromise of say 80ish... And then back and forth until maybe a deal is made lol

Why the heck would anyone want to start off with a high bid if there's someone that might be willing to sell for less? As stated earlier in the thread, there's a guy on another server looking to sell for 70m, but I'm not willing to transfer.

Well thanks for everyone's input but Azryel has seen why I made this post. For buyers and sellers, and not for trolling. And as Azryel stated no one is saying 60 mil or gtfo. As Azryel stated Im also open to negotiation on the price. And as Azryel pointed out TWICE now there is someone selling them for 70mil gil, which is how I came to my offer of 60 and see where it went. If you want to flame on someone Im sure there are a variety of other posts to flame on. OKay? Thanks!
