I don't think I remember seeing one on the SCH forums and I would be interested to see what everyone has soloed since the 99 level cap.
I remember I saw a SCH solo Kaggen. I was thoroughly impressed but I'm too lazy to look >.>

I think that gaunab video is rather atypical. He got very lucky to have white proc just so happen to be a spell he can hit I think.
He didn't seem to be in terrible danger prior proccing white, so I dont think he really needed it. Futhermore capping lights out made this even more impressive.

Even if the white spell wasn't something he could land he could have fumed it every 5 minutes. The odds were decent enough.

I wouldn't say decent though. I mean of all of the possible procs, but he would have ran out of mp eventually and almost died before hitting it (thus refilled temps but more importantly giving him brava/kaustra back). But it's whatever. He pinned it, which I guess is the only way to do it anyways solo, but that is technically an exploit.
I suppose "Decent" was a bit too strong. "Fair" maybe? I'm counting a total of 326 VW procs total. SCH depending on subjob for ws can reach around 45~50ish or so. That's between 10~15% chance to have the white proc, not to mention any other highly procs. Consider you can successfully /fume 5 times a match. You have a few rerolls to keep you alive if you can land the Highly weaknesses to hold you over.
As for the pinning. Unless you can bind/break/sleep, or /nin and run like the wind I don't know how else a SCH would do it. It would seem weird to me if a backline job could just straight up smack it down to death.

Well in all fairness this content wasn't MEANT to be solo'd. It really is only possible through an exploit, just sayin'.

Sorry for the semi necro, but what, if any, is the difference between the test server and live, in regards to Sch doing those solos? Asking about Shinryu in particular.

Hello all I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to computer programs ect.. I've been one of those mage solo types since rdm prime... now. its sch solo fun!!! I've done celaeno lolgenbu hedjedjet guimavre and suzaku thus far i really wanna know how u take videos so i can post this stuff so help with that would be awesome
The new windower beta has built-in video recording, and if you don't like that, you can also use FRAPS.

[211 days between previous and next post]Hello Scholars of FFXI. I have heard of SCH soloing Outer Ra'Kaznar Skirmish. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this :D
It's probably very easy. Mobs in Ra'Kaznar are squishy to magic, so dropping a 1.8-2.5k Helix and kiting with /RDM's gravity can make any of the NMs a breeze I would think. The fodder are nearly one-shottable with a Fire II(skeletons/Acuexes). Not even sure if the Ironclad would get enough TP to Scapula Beam you if you're kiting and only hitting with Helix. I'd imagine it would take a while to clear solo unless doing a 3/3/3 or something. You can Spirit Taker everything for extra MP too, maybe not lock yourself into any Arts so you can nuke while also Curing without increase MP costs rather than swapping to dark/light every few seconds. Only mob that could potentially be annoying are Mimics.

I have never solo'd it though. There's always at least a couple friends who want some free wailing stones. It'd be a waste to not bring them, and it'd take longer too.

Is soloing still a thing? Sorry, bad laptop so i can't make videos.
Need a light based nuke that isn't helix so we can target weaknesses better, clearly ice isn't his weakness.
SCH/RDM, no tabula rasa used, no meds used. Let it split, 3 step darkness, prey he doesn't use tera.
