Got this email tonight, and my ff was cancelled:
Trying to go to the site to reactivate my characters, no matter what credit card I use (all linked to multiple different bank accounts, and I KNOW they all work), I get this error:

And that's all it says. What the heck does that even mean?! It doesn't elaborate at all to what these "relevant options" might be.

So I try to go with crysta, every. single. payment option with those gets declined. Paypal too, which already has a few hundred bucks in it, so it's not trying to take off my cc.

I tried to go to the playspan site itself as well and add credits onto there, and both my credit cards were declined.

I haven't tried click and buy yet, but from the horror stories I've heard about it, I'm not sure I want to.

What in the heck is going on?

Edit: Got brave and tried click and buy, and I *think* it's working.. but seriously.. what the heck?

sounds like your cards are frozen, including paypal, maybe you should contact each of them as well.

If not, then try customer support, as another measure, what's your status of your relevant options? (click continued services and say what's the status of your characters) probably best not to screenshot that page.

edit: this doesn't really have much to do with customer service in the general sense, it's an automated system, customer service typically deals with live people, however SE isn't known for theirs, so I'd make sure you have your ducks in order before calling emailing (I detest calling places so I don't recommend it) them, like checking each of your cards etc.

Oh good grief. Just checked my bank account and playspans charged me over 100$, even though each time they said my cc was declined. I have NO up points there and no crysta, either. What in the flaming hell do I do now? -_-

Edit, also to answer your question, I'm 100% positive neither of my bank accounts are locked and neither is my paypal account. At least I don't see how/why it would be without some sort of email notification to me (my paypal account).

My characters were listed as cancelled.

I don't know why, but click and buy actually worked. Back in game now.

ah, system burp then, and eww C&B...

it's hard to say, personally I've never had an issue with their crysta via playspan> paypal or their direct CC service...

(well short of back when they used that stupid verify mastercard ***, good thing I kept my ps2 to get around that garbage at the time).

Before I completely rage at SE, am I missing a step or something else, or did they really just take my money without giving me anything?
This is what's in my bank account :

If you notice, it's exactly the CND amount for 5,000 crysta.

I have no crysta in my SE account.

Does it take time to update? Are they having some payment issues they haven't posted about, or that I missed them posting about? Am I missing something else? =/

I have the same exact issue so I have to use Crysta and pay using the UltimatePay since that is the only thing that seems to take my credit card.

Call SE but if you arent getting contact quick enough talk to your bank/credit card company and you can reject the charges.

yeah, you can dispute the charges, but I prefer to not recommend that unless you have to, as it could cause even further issues down the road.

I prefer the direct CC method as then I don't have to go add crysta each month... but to each their own. I feel for ya, I've had some issues with paypal myself and them not allowing large purchases on my paypal cc, I'm like why do I have 1k in credit on it if I can't use it? (wanted to put a monitor on it...)

You clearly have not dealt with Dell customer support, but yes, SE customer support is pretty lousy.

No, to each what that 601 error forces us to do to be able to play.

I would prefer direct CC as well, but they don't like my CCs either and there is absolutely NO reference to its meaning anywhere.

Sometimes quick successions of small charges, will trigger a fraud block on ur bank account. Probably worth phoning to check.

Oh no! :-( I'm useless to know how to help you, but I really hope you can get it sorted out and come back. If I remember right, you were so sweet! A couple Christmases ago I was camping Bugbear and had to go because I was being dragged off to church. I said I had to go and ran and stood afk in a corner. Someone, I think it was you, pulled Bugbear to me to make sure I got credit for the kill while afk, then warped me back to Jeuno after being sure I was done. Total sweetie!

I had an issue a long while back with click and buy, kinsa similar. I went to pay through them for crysta and after comfirming my order i got an error page. The charge went though tho, but i got no crysta. So i had to do a second charge.

I sent them an email about it. It took a good week or two just to hear back, but i eventualy got that credited back to my account.

I don't understand why they made this change at all? I mean really?
Every month i cringe thinking my acct will get cancelled somehow due to an error on my part or theirs.

I mean wtf SE? Why "Fix" what isn't broke in the first place? What happened to "Here's my CC info, charge it automatically and take it out of my acct monthly, no problems".

I did manage to get click and buy working, though I'm not sure if that's an entirely good thing from what I read about it.

Had the exact same problem with my mule account too. (Errors, declining cc etc). I like this game, but holy crap they have some of the worst customer service, and over complicated stuff, (2 logins for one game, seriously? and hey go log on the se site - wanna change anything to do with your account - NOPE, wait, need your pol id and pw too~) ever. =/

the old payment system had security issues, and due to the limitations of POL they couldn't fix it, so they had to change, and/or they wanted XI and XIV to use the same payment system, but then again I'm still irked that they didn't fully use POL to it's full potential, which screws us over in the end.

they have a new direct CC system that they finally put in, already switched, no issues.

from what I understand a lot of the issues can stem from the address line not being 100% the same with the CC holder's file like AV. or Ave, or avenue

problem with a computerized system, if the things don't hash the same, it will spit out an error.
