Things in FFXI you just can't make sense of?

We didn't seal the maws, we sealed Atomos. Atomos was the link between our world and Lilith's world of strife; the maws simply link our world's present to our world's past.

And I can think of several reasons for Lilisette to go to Lilith's world: she sympathized with Lilith's situation, and wanted to do whatever should could to fix what she was trying to fix all along; she blatantly envied Lilith's maturity, which is something that she could have hoped would have developed while saving her world; her only real human bonds that we're aware of are with us and her parents, and she had just insured that her parents would live happy lives together, so she got closure; she's the muthafuckin' hero, son.

if i let the opening cutscene play (usually when i run off after a kid) the game loses connection when i try to log in after the cutscene. whyyyyyyy ;;

Anyone ever notice that the letters in the name of the NPC Assai Nybaem (Clear Abyssite NPC) can be re-arranged to say "I am Abyssean"?

Why if I do decide to watch the full length opening movie or even 2 minutes of it I cannot log in?

Well yeah you can also just hit a key to skip it, but if I (and apparently him too) let it run, I get kicked out.

Why is it the people of Abyssea couldn't win the war... Yet they have an unlimited amount of brews on the Curor prospectors? As long as you pay them you get one... I mean seriously... "Here take this potion we have INFINITE STOCK of that turns you into God himself here, and save us please!" I just want to ask them "Why do you not take that Primeveal Brew, give it out to your fighters and have them KILL EVERYTHING?!" Guess adventures have a neon sign above us that says "ALL PURPOSE WORK HORSE!"

To scratch the surface of the things wrong with the astronomy of FFXI...
The FFXI world shares the same time of day regardless of location, therefore the world must be flat.
The Sun and Moon seem to revolve around the planet because the stars do not change location. With that said, to what reference is a year recorded?
They're also seperated by exactly 12 hours of rotation, but the moon has phases? Where is it getting it's reflected light from?

Final Fantasy XII's Hecteyes bestiary entry establishes that for that particular version of Hecteyes, only two of the eyes actually function and the rest are just there to confuse an enemy into targetting one of the false eyes rather than a real one. Though that's XII and not XI, perhaps the same reason applies, that only two of its eyes are real and the others are fakes.

yeah I know, but lol I have skipped that thing for years, I lose connection if I leave it sit at the yes/no screen for more than a few seconds, it's always been like that so I didn't question it, I'm assuming something that has to do with how it transfers from pol to xi's servers.

I've seen the thing countless times anyway :P

Why when making mythics they didnt make an instrument or shield.

Just seems wierd that relics and empyreans have shields and instruments...but mythics dont.

So did the Paladins Balrahn come across just face tank everything without a shield :< Did the Bards just sing and only give one buff to their party members :<

Or it could just be to trick someone into thinking Invisible will get them safely past it and none of the eyes actually work. :o

think of it like clarity and a bond between your avatar. at first ramuh is like "ugh this *** again, sup" but after capping smn skill you two are friends and he actually tries/works hard to deal dmg for ya or buff your party well

and with higher smn skill you summong less and less stupid *** elementals. at zero skill your light spirit goes derp and casts haste every 10 minutes but at capped skill you call only genius elementals etc

Yep... They also can't be blocked... Hell, one of the primary purposes of shields in warfare is as a defense against projectiles such as arrows... So wtf.
