i do not know if u are joking but that seems to be a good way do u look up on wiki before u make the battle plan or when your making the plan or after then go back and edit the plan.

i believe his question is wide and open for enough debate that it should not be catgorie with a simply answer question

What is the purpose of forum if we all post in the same thread really.

looks to me someone just like to feel elitist, and that they now feel that others are not good enough to post in the forum, but only in a single thread.

looking aside its Sylph.Kawar constant questioning

Simply look up the event/boss to kill on wiki or BG.

There is alot of user feedback there but also alot of the info is outdated.
Simply look at the maps and figure out the optimal route so you dont have to look at it during events. that is especially helpful with multiple maps.

Look at the nm's moves and spell's. and again the user feedback
does the nm spam alot of debuffs. then make sure the whm are reaady with -na spells
Does the nm do alot of Aoe then shadow tanks have reduced efficiency and you might want a mnk/pld tank instead.
Does it have ista-dead move thne maybe make sure to have a backu tank

etc etc

simply put resource the locations. research the fight. look for user feedback. use you knowledge about the jobs to figure out how to counter the nm in a fight best possible. and of story

It depends on what it you're wanting to do. I don't want this to be too simple, but it's really just:

1. What do we want?
2. Do we have the right jobs and enough firepower?
3. Let's go.

I can't recall much more than that - except a few special fights where you want to plan stuns, or if you have multiple people covering one proc (for example, blms in VW.) But then, it's just a matter of talking about it.

edit (i just checked the random question topic i did not see the replay when i made this quote reply so i am just letting u know i see it now so thanks for the help on that question btw.)

do u know i just checked the aby wiki page and i really do not know what i am looking 4.

also when u make battle plans do u list the jobs u want to have with u or the ones u normally have with u any thing like that

to be able to lead and plan is a skill you need to learn, it can't just be read about. You need to find out how to think on your feet yourself that way when the tides turn and bad things happen, you know exactly how to react instead of being stuck asking others
yes i understand i know how to make a plan it just been a very long time i just wanted to see how others here do it and see like i said in the op what they do different or the same.

Be a good player. Find other good players. Everything usually falls into place from there.

General strategy for any given fight is usually public knowledge soon after the fight is available. If you do not know how to properly set up for a fight and find capable members, DO NOT SET UP THE FIGHT; you will just be wasting the time of 17 other people. Go with someone else who knows what they are doing first. The exception to this would be new content that no one really knows how to do, in which case I would advise being patient and waiting until it gets cleared up.

The most important thing is to READ. Don't be lazy and expect someone to baby you through an event. Know what needs to be done before-hand by reading the wiki. If you have troubles understanding how to use the wiki or doing research in general, leading is not for you.

edit: Please do not take this the wrong way, but if you are having to ask these questions, you are probably not ready to be leading anything.

Ok. Part of me feels bad for this OP, on the chance that s/he might really be as slow as s/he appears, and s/he's genuinely and sincerely seeking help.

But c'mon ... this is just another lame-*** "trolling" thread, right?

If it isn't, then I apologize to the OP ... but also, if this isn't a straight-trolling OP, then my reaction here underscores why sh*t OP's like the one Sylow recently made about "Hay gaiz, how do I get 2 da greater colibri XPXPXP camp?!? I here it rox!!" are not harmless, and should be clamped down on by the moderator staff, in my opinion.

When I said "Read Wiki" earlier, I meant it. There are other sources of information- Forums, etc. Those work too, wiki information is just more accessible.

Honestly, I have trouble naming an event to which I have gone recently where someone messed something up because they didn't read about it beforehand.

Reading prevents people from getting locked out of fights because they don't have CSes. Reading lets you know about things that need to be stunned, important gimmicks, and form changes.

Once you've done enough research, and had enough experience, reading about a fight will more or less give you enough information to slot out the jobs that you absolutely NEED for success, and the remainder can be filled by other jobs that can be useful for the event.

As far as strategy goes, that takes a combination of experience and trial and error. Luckily, WIKI tends to eliminate the need for trial and error after about ~3 days of content release.

EXP on worms is exactly what it sounds like… getting EXP on worms inside abyssea to level up or obtain merit points.

i'm going to assume you know nothing about abyssea…because thats how it sounds and so please read everything here: http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Category:Abyssea

next, about planning Terminus answered it for the most part.

What people specifically fight inside abyssea however is completely up to what the individual wants to obtain, everything in abyssea is fought.

And for jobs needed, that is also entirely dependent on what you are doing…… you will always need a tank + healer, then if you're going for red !! you'll need a war and ninja or just one of them with all weapons skilled up. if you're going for yellow !! tank + healer, BLM/BRD usually if you can't find someone to main BRD, a BLU and someone /nin or nin main for ninjutsu, all aren't required but it makes farming your seals or + 2 items less depressing if you're not the lucky type. if you want blue !! you'll only really need a MNK/WAR with staff/club leveled and a good healer and fight your NM between 22:00-6:00 in game time. if you want all 3, i believe its obvious what you'll need.

you're going to have to read up on whatever NM you want gear from to know which needs stuns. And what he means by stuns is stunning certain TP moves or AOE spells, a lot of abyssea monsters tend to gain weird power ups after doing certain actions.

for the most part everyone will be getting things done as wiki testimonials say…and if thats not how they are getting things done everyone has their own unique ways to lead and get things accomplished. no one is going to post how they killed every NM in abyssea so you can compare and contrast it. you want to play this game now you need to read wiki or have some very very patient friends.

Oh dear lord...

1. Exping in abyssea is easy, I suggest you join a group to learn about lights and whatnot before trying you make your own exp group.

2. NMs in abyssea is all about procs. Make sure you have the necessary jobs to proc whatever it is you need to proc - i.e. if you need to proc red for KIs/atmas, make sure you have a nin and a war with all weaponskills. If you need to proc yellow for af3 items, make sure you have a nin or a /nin, whm, blu and a blm/brd with all proc spells. If you need to proc blue, well - look up what weapons you need for that specific time of day you're fighting it. Oh and to maximize your chances of drops you can even bring a thf. Lesser af3 seal nms can easily be tanked (and proc'ed) by a thf/nin too.

3. Look up the specific nm(s) you're going to fight so you know about tp moves etc.

All this you could have found on wiki.

Trolling.

I really think that you should have deleted it and send the OP a private messaging explaining that things like this don't deserve their own thread and is only asking for trouble.

The other option, not moderating is to let the law of the land decide it's fate.

While BG is a whole other beast I'll explain a story there.

I started a thread asking about sea necks.

I was berated and my thread was made fun of. I quickly learned that there is a thread "Random Questions" to post that kind of question in.

If the mods had coddled me and forced people to answer my question, I wouldn't have learned anything.
