There are. Flicker has a safety feature that doesn't allow people to C & P pictures from it's users. I know Facebook doesn't have that feature, I'm sure MySpace is the same since all the underage *** and pedophiles roam that site.

This thread is amusing. Specially since Ive seen the OPs Avi like 100 times.
And I think its agreed far and wide once on the Internet, it's the world's. Whether or not you have a copyright.

I guess if you want to keep someone from taking your avatar, use your actual picture.

alright let me clear stuff up here, I was web browsing, saw a pic... I liked it, I put it on as a avatar....
months later...

I get a msg, I am like wow who is this person... Says Avatar Thf... I am like wow what did I do? lol

He says I stole his Avatar. I was like damn I didn't know he made it... So i complemented him and said I'd give him props for it. So I put in my comments his name and props! lol

after that I didn't get a msg from him... figured o.k he is alright with me just giving him props... I come on the site... See this! I am like wow lol I didn't even read the full thing I just had to tell my side... SORRY! I didn't know it was a big deal... You should be happy people like the pic you put up as your avatar... I didn't know it was yours. I just happen to see it and liked it.

Eh don't worry about it, many ppl do it without knowing of others having it. It happens. :) I don't think he's seriously that mad over it. :P

I took down his name from my comments due to the fact that IF said person made the pic it was not good enough and he had to bash me on forms... when he could of asked please take it down other then calling me a Avatar thf lol.

I don't think he created it himself but I'm unsure. Even so, there is no way to view every single player on here's avatar. So it happens to alot of ppl. I'm sure its not a huge deal, there is nothing stopping anyone from using it as their own avatar on the profile. I took some gothic chicks photo for my avatar, so not like I'm editing it or doing something with it that would cause a chaos.

with the person giving you props i fail to see why the creator would be upset. We're not talking about a great masterpiece of artwork, we're talkin about an avatar. And if the OP truly did make it one would think that they would be proud that it was liked enough to be used by someone else AND have dues given for there work.

Now i could understand if they had asked them to remove or give credit and neither was done, but that's not the case here.

Funny thing is, that i have seen some of these avatars while browsing internet.
If someone has created there avatar then they should be the only ones to have it. As long as u dont allow your creation to become share-able.
If someone took a file from somewhere to use it as there avatar they should not make a big deal out of it.

From observing the tact of the OP, I seriously doubt he had the patience to create that pretty cool avi. He's just butthurt that someone has the exact same avi.

It's the same sort of jealousy a woman gets when she arrives at a fancy cocktail party wearing the exact same dress as her social rival.

I've been doing the same thing. I think its fake because of the angle of his body while he's flying through the air. If the spring board really launched him that far I really think his legs would have flipped over him at some point...

There are some avatars I definitely would not want to steal.

RL Avatars are the best anyways, since it shows the person posting them actually has the guts to publish a picture of him-/herself. Oh, and you dont have to worry about people stealing your picture, unless you are Hugh Jackman.
