Rancor Collar Questions

1) Can you build tonberry hate on the tonberrys in abyssea konschat?

2) How many Kills to max hate?

3)Does the hate ever reset or go away?

Not sure if the hate goes away or not.. but the TP hate move of theirs does about 6k to me.. the last time I even killed tonberries was in 08' while waiting on the carby mitt item to pop lol

2) I have no exact number. but maybe 150~(guess >.>)

3) No, unless you reset it yourself doing a quest

Yes.

Ive read its exactly 240 kills from no hate at all to max hate. You know when you have max hate when you do the quest and the npc asks for 6k to reset your hate.

yes, 240, can pay 6-7k to a NPC to reset.

do you have to kill ep+ or too weak count?

As long as they are tonberries their level doesn't count, so you can still build hate killing too weak tonberries.

Any of you know if they lowered the limit? I see everyone is saying it should cost 6000gil to reset but mine only stays at 5000? :(

I believe the cap on how much gil it takes is 10k, I've had that before, but it's been 4 months since I cleared mine.

Just remember max hate = being OHKO'd by a Tonberry if they get off Everyone's Grudge. Happened to a friend of mine, he was in Aby Konschtat burning Tonberry's, one got of an EG and he took 2700+ to the face like a champ.

Sorry for the necro, but for some reason this thing is very confusing to me and I can't find much information online. Lets see if i get this straight...

First I get the collar, then I go kill Tonberry's until I get enough hate by either killing a couple of hundreds of these things or getting owned by Everyone's Grudge... good so far?

Ok, assuming I manage to do any of the two, how do I check the hate or how do I know that my collar is "done"? What are the exact stats after max hate?

Do this quest you should be capped when he wants 6k.

Also max stats on it are 5% crit rate+ and 10%damage take+

Takes around 200~250 from what I've seen and this can be any level ton even if you don't get xp.

Edit: One more thing you don't have to wear the collar while you're killing or even own one while you build hate. Think of it like a hidden stat.

Don't pay that; it's just to know if you're done. The +damage is everything.

when you pay the gil your hate will reset and you need to build hate again :x so dont pay that :)

Don't pay the 6k, as that will clear your hate!

10% damage increase is an increase in any damage you receive.

Just to clarify, If I get oneshot by a tonberry's grudge that would get me to max hate or the 200+ kills are "mandatory"?

I was planning to whisker Tonberries in konshtat for dark rings and refresh hairpins, do aoe'd kills count as one or each mob counts, and do party kills count for everyone's hate? I'm capped, but i have a few friends who are too lazy to do it themselves.

Getting one shotted means nothing except you have low hp, Max hate rancor's hit me for 65k+

NM's rancor will hit that hard but regular "grudge" won't.

Everyone's Grudge - Deals damage based on target's "Tonberry Hate."
Everyone's Rancor - Deals damage based on target's "Tonberry Hate" multiplied by 10.

Granted, it can still kill you at full potency.

As for kill counts. As long your party/ally gets the kill, it counts, for everyone. The last time I did it, I whisker burned it and I didn't claim but one for each pull. But you could always test it. Check your hate level, go burn a set of 10-20 without claiming any. You can cast on some other mob family or even on a chest and then check it again.
