Well, being as Amorphic spikes makes darkness with CDC I would guess this is a new spell in the 2hour self chain possibilities too depending on how you want to toss it in, maybe a finisher after one line: Quad~>Amorphic~>Darkness

Was just reading that Thunder Breath was nerfed already. Totally awesome man! Why even give us the damn spell in the first place? So awesome that we get 13 new spells and there's probably 4 maybe 5 that are even *** worth anything. Just get rid of the breath spells please and do us all a favor.

Again they haven't "given" you anything, it is on the test server to test. It has not been released yet, so you are getting mad over nothing. TEST.

Yeah no. We already tried that with heavy strike. Everyone was super excited about it, and then bam, nerf. The test server is more for finding bugs it seems, player feedback has little effect on functionality unless you're JP.

They seem to have nerfed Thunder Breath down to about 2/3 HP as damage. Brewed (with Rasp) did 6745 damage. The other spells may have received the same treatment.

It's not exactly 2/3. My testing indicates that the damage formula is now HP/1.4823

No other spells have been touched.

I'd still use thunder breath at 1/1.48... that's still seriously good.

I count at least double that in useful spells provided they don't make any further changes...

This. The breaths were never going to be useful except in very limited tactical situations. Thunder Breath is still "balanced" in that its MP efficiency is on the same scale as Heat Breath, this is still a disappointing change however.

So far none of our other decent spells have been touched. According to some quick tests that I did last night, Tourbillion is still 33.3% DEF down, Barbed Crescent is still -30ACC, and Bloodrake still maintains a 100% damage->HP drained ratio. The physical spells and other breaths still maintain their respective modifiers. Let's hope it stays that way. Orcish Counterstance will situationally be very nice.

Aside from those...

Absolute Terror is pretty ***.

Pyric Bulwark N/A

Bilgestorm is too far gone to be saved.

So 10/13 of our spells are useful situationally or otherwise.

Im mostly worried about Amorphic Spikes, if that gets touched, ill be seriously sad.

It was pretty obvious from the start that absolute terror was going to be trash... and why is Pyric Bulwark N/A? Have you guys not been able to test it?

I believe PB isn't available yet, there's just a placeholder for it but can't use it.

QC would need the Darkness skillchain property for that to be a 3-part double darkness in that order. (Hint: It doesn't)

Edit: herped and got CDC properties mixed with Blade: Hi, doesn't change what my first statement was however, double darkness with only 2 spells is impossible with CDC due to the lack of the Darkness skillchain property

Does bloodrake have the darkness property? I didn't see any notes on it due to the HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE 5 minute recast on Unbridled Learning

Looked now on BG wiki, only testing I'm seeing is that it made distortion with Savage blade, and someone assumed it had the distortion property.
Distortion -> Gravitation -> distortion does not a double darkness make to the best of my knowledge

Yes,

That being said, any double spell double darkness would require Azure Lore, in which case using Tourbillion as early as possible followed by as long a Skillchain as possible would be superior.

Vertical Cleave->Tourbillion->Quad. Continuum->Goblin Rush->Amorphic Spikes->Quadrastrike->Amorphic Spikes->Quadrastrike

ITT: Spells can only have one skillchain property. All of the physical Unbridled Learning spells have a level three skillchain property. Keep in mind that I am usually the one doing the testing on these spells. While I didn't discover the level three properties, I have confirmed their existence. BGwiki is not always correct, and is certainly not 100% accurate.

My bad g-man, I was going off of what it said on BG wiki ;/, it certainly hasn't wronged me in any way up until this very moment
Lies and slander rabblerabblerabblerabblerabble

Also the assumption of me having the mind set that spells can only have one skillchain property was uncalled for. Granted I haven't experimented with the new spells yet, however to believe I'm disagreeing with you is taking a defensive position, where as I was only curious.

I never said anyone was saying anything less than the truth, only that this is my first time hearing about it, and I try to stay in the know (hence my checking the wiki to try and remain up to date.) I may not vigorously read through thread after thread in the pile of threads on BG, but usually I try to remain aware as to the attributes of our new arsenals each update. Might could chalk this up to impending finals coming up :/. Thanks for your testing and effort towards these spells regardless.

Edit: if you were referring to my hyperlink, it was just poking fun at the wiki not being updated, not towards the credibility of your statement. Sorry for the miscommunication.
