SE Should Make ALL NM Force Pop

Quite honestly I'm happy with the current state of HNMs just from the fact that idiots like yourself will never get a chance at obtaining a DRing, Ridill, or Hauteclaire outside of Mog Bonanza.

Rich idiots can still get their hands on them for linkshells willing to sell. But I still think it's lame how your only hope of obtaining these is to have the more sophisticated bot above the other botters or have hundreds of millions of gil.

if you know somone is using a bot then why are you not reporting them

HNM takes time, dedication and alot of work so you can obtain the rewards. to be honest, dont make you a good player. there is a reason that they are like this and thats why SE made them like this. the rrewards are exlusive, they will become un exlusive if everyone had them

the spwan claimed when PH dies would be nice for some NMs but not all.

in the end of the day SE aint gonna change them to forced spawn end of. just to add, i have not campped any HNM at all an tbh i dont know if i will. but this topic is total BS just coz you cant get a claim on an NM/HNM/WhateverHM you think SE needs to make changes just to make you happy, i dont think so. grow up and get a life geesh

The shells that don't bot have worked their *** off to get those drops. I don't see why they shouldn't be rewarded for their effort. Even those that do have put their time in. If you see botting, report it. Simple.

The skill is found when you kill the NM
Making more then one way to fight this HNM will encourage small LS's to take on the challenge

force pop is one/ kill PH make NM red..I like

ENM once a week / with some weirdo pre-req to do...I like most (hehe)

Giving a chance to a wider audience to do these kind of fight is what makes a game "fun"

Wasn't talking about skill to claim, I was talking about the time they put in to get their levels, merits, gear, and (hopefully) skills. By that point, if they can claim and kill they've earned whatever drops they get as I'm concerned. Also, rather than change it SE implemented systems like ZNM, Nyzul, and Salvage so you didn't have to compete over gear. It just happens that HNMs still drop the best items for some jobs.

There nothing wrong with that if you just expand on what they have now.
Give a chance to any ls...but of course there will be a catch

or thay shude make the mob ID 100% random so bot will not work that can be done too but pop item i t hink works better

and ya think they wont work out the ID combinations. for it to be 100% random you have to specify what integers to random between or you will get an error. also it cant be the same number as mobs around you. so that limits it more.

i knew a GM will deal with botters seriously. ther was some bot in L.O.O camping moldy NM using a bot. every time the NM spawned, it spawned claimed. person would attack, no WS, just SS Phalanx and Blink every 20 secs. reported and continued farming. next thing i know the person dissapeared and no d/c no log out. never seen them since.

so yeah a GM will do something about it. you might need to speak to them a few times but action will be taken if appropriate

That person must have been a complete retard for going AFK while leaving his/her claim bot on. The only way a GM will ever detect and be able to ban you is you're blatantly being stupid like being AFK and not responding to GM tells.



HNMs isn't for everyone. Seriously, it's 2009. YOU HAVE ALTERNATIVES. ABody/EBody/MBody? Go do Odin. Assjammer? Bahamut V2 mask is better. Want a DRing, Hauteclaire, or lolRidill? Get to botting because bots have been around since the dawn of HNM camping and it's not going to be going away anytime soon.

(ks99, ENM, kill PH and NM turns red to you, etc etc)

Yes, botters shouldn't get items, but there's not a great deal you can do about it unless you can prove that they bot. If I see a mob up (unclaimed) for more than 2 seconds, then I find it hard to believe it's a bot.

The dominant LS's of most servers have been around for multiple years now. Do you really think they haven't been GM'ed countless times now? SE can't do anything to punish players unless they blatantly catch them in the act red-handed (like the genius that left his claim bot on while he went AFk and didn't respond to GM tells as a result). Most of these people have been botting since before I even first started playing the game back in 2006, the "GM them and get them banned!11!" thing has been done to death and just never happens. Want to know what was said about botting by the developers at the last SE player summit? "Can you prove that they were botting?" - Direct quote.

I've never heard of anyone being banned for botting, but I have heard of people getting banned for PoS hacking, flee hacking, and of course the hilarious Salvage bans back in January.

Best thing I've ever heard. I love when people say "I'm gonna report them and get them banned for [whatever.. RMT, botting, anything >_>]". I tell them to not bother unless they can prove it, without a doubt, using only FFXI as proof.

"I don't need proof, the GM can see for themselves" is pretty much the only reply I get >.> People don't seem to need to "prove" others are in the wrong and have nothing against smearing a (potentially) good persons reputation.

Don't forget the dates though. There was that update that made it where you can't claim a mob for a good 4 seconds with any JA or spells after it pops. Of course, that doesn't effect the bot, they can bypass that with hacks.

If I remember right, the timer was made to be a "random" delay, between 1 and 5 seconds, or something like that. Though it still isn't really proof that they were botting over the person filming lagging.

Typically, I can claim a NM within ~2-3 seconds of it popping, without a problem, and until I can see the code behind how a bot circumventes FFXI's code, I can't see how they can get past a simple "DO NOT ALLOW" type statement either.

Didn't look like lag to me.

Plus, you got to admit, 9 spells were cast within 1 second of it poping. Either they were all from the same shell, or different shells were competing with each other with their own style of bots.

The spawn shield update was the worst thing to happen to FFXI since dance animations. c.c Now the people that usually have the good reactions and can claim within a second, before the NM even fully appears, are the people who get outclaimed by the people who weren't even paying attention.
