Everything you guys are suggesting is basicaly the same concept or close to the same concept as Einherjar. SE is not going to make any game-altering improvements to a system that has been out for 5 years. Someone lock this thread or block Thunderz and Awezomeos from posting in it.


Sounds like you're saying that they do exactly what I thought they did. I said name, you said ID whats the difference? Why can't the numbers be randomized more frequently to confuse the packet sniffers. Could this be done in FFXI, probably not but perhaps in FFXIV.

The mob ID doesn't change after it popped. All you would have to do is find the same ID as the mob that had popped earlier/day before.

If the server generates 4 random ID's and tags one as KB, then shoots the packets out, how is a bot to know which one is real?

Easy way to bypass that;

Say KB1 is 123ABC1, KB2 is 123ABC2, KB3 123ABC3, and KB4 is 123ABC4. All you would have to do is load up all 4 IDs and the one that pops will be the one that the bot trys to claim.

Say KB2 pops, and all 4 IDs are loaded up. The bot will disregarded all other 3 IDs and attempt to claim KB2.

Well I've been thinking about it and I don't think the server could just randomize the ID on the spot because it would have to send out something that the game would know what it was ahead of time so that it could draw the proper monster. In order for something like this to work all the data would probably have to be encrypted and a new key assigned daily to prevent brute force cracking. I'm sure that this would be very resource intensive.

But once again I don't really know anything about it, just making conversation. Lol, I'm stuck at work and my brain starts whacking out at about 3:00 a.m.

Even if he does I mean who cares ? Like everyone use this, you'll never be in a LS where nobody bot, even social LS have members who bot you know... And knowing basics information about bots doesn't mean you use them. Protip : you can have a friend with a bot without having one yourself.

There's nothing to change about NM now, this game is just too old, can't people just get over it and wait for XIV ? Then if you don't like NM spawn system in XIV quit before investing year of your life in it. Gonna save us all the whining.

I see what your saying but like I said, on pop the mob is gonna target/claim the right ID. All you have to do is have all the IDs loaded up.

We not even sure if FF XIV will have a "claim" system anyway. Lot of MMO (actually 95% of them) do not have a such system. Drops goes to the party doing highest damage / generating highest hate, which makes NM fight to be fun because of drama that usually occur when two (or more) guilds are fighting for the same NM.

btw, i have not read through all the thread, just giving a direct response to the subject of discussion:

I think that if SE makes all NM's force pop.. we know everything is gonna get overcamped to hell, which means that SE must also change the drop rate system. No 1%, 2%, hell even 20% drops anymore. This will mean that they will most likely have to make 50% drops or more just to cycle everyone through to get a chance of getting the item/weapon him/her need.

it would be a nice thought, but in reality I dont want the extra lag and headache that i already have :(

honestly do i like that bots are in game.. no.. but at the same time its like steroids in baseball.. you know its there but you cant catch everyone that does it.. but forced pop all NMs isnt the answer.. 1 would you farm pop items for them? if so then your gonna have an area filled with farmers and people popping faf/nid every 15 minutes.. 2. you would just end up with people fighting over who pops next.. and probably have bots that would pop for them.. so your just takin the same problem and changing how its done =/ me myself i really dont want to see dragons aery filled with 500 people all tryin to pop faf/nid.. the lag would be uncalled for.. and you might have people tryin to mpk or steal other peoples pops... though now that i think about it.. a nid flail with 500 people in zone would be fun to watch lol

as much as i hate to admit it.. cause i dont see a problem with third party windowers most of the time.. but as long as SE allows third party windowers its a problem they wont be able to solve.. as long as there is a 3rd party program able to be used on this game like a windower botting is gonna happen and unfortunately there are people that are gonna get away wtih it

how would you do it then.. from what your saying its like you think they should add NMs to drop pop items like sky or sea.. which A. people could bot those NMs or B. it makes the NMs harder to get then they already are.. i get what your saying. but do you really want to turn a 21-24 hour NM into a NM it takes a week or 2 to pop.. my sea shell maybe pops 2-3 loves every other week.. sky shells pop kirin unless its a burn group maybe once every other week.. it is gonna be hard work but 1. hard work for SE which i am pretty sure they wont do.. and 2. make it so shells that normally do these NMs once a day (or try to) have to wait a week or more to actually be able to kill them =/

Why are people still arguing about this? Everyone knows it ain't gonna change, especially now with the announcement of FFXIV getting closer to completion and release.

***, SE can't even fix the *** R0 issues that are happening throughout the servers, yet people actually think the HNM scene is gonna be totally revamped? LOL

Unless, of course, we're just waxing philosophical about our wants and desires, in which case I want to be able to grow money in my mog house, have access to sub-job's 2 hours....and a *** pony.
