Starter Blu Set Help.

Thats probably enough to get started and some of those things are expensive already. Honestly, if you and the WHM have decent atma you probably won't need to rely on an eva set for a good majority of the seal NMs because a WHM can just heal it all back. You would have to deal decent dmg though so they dont steal hate if you are getting whacked constantly w/o dealing any dmg (w/o good atma). So I would suggest using DD atma(Minikin monstrosity, voracious violet and raized ruins)for melee + spell spam for most seal NMs you would duo. That said, I'd still recommend working on an Eva build for CW burning because it helps a lot more than pdt gear imo, especially if you do it solo.
The swords are a good step, I only have one made because I main Almace but I might make another just incase. Sandolphon already made some good suggestions that aren't too expensive. You could also get elusive earring + musical earring for earrings, heed ring, ocelott gloves/trousers and evasion torque. Only really decent eva legs I can think of are Ocelot Trousers (best) and Alcide's Subligar (nearly as much eva but no haste). Draylo's right that a good WHM will be sufficient most of the time, though I'd keep a PDT set around regardless for nasty TP moves. If you want to play it safe, eva sets are a good but slow choice for lower-tier content. I was under the impression that those were all decent eva pieces. And some of them are a little harder to get but I myself am a noob and was able to get the hardest of those pieces within a few days. I mean the only real problem would be gil for the abcs, but 600-800k isnt hard to get up nowadays. Sorry, I wasn't clear on what I was talking about. The sets on my page are all high-end, not something you'd be shooting for before you even have +1.
Well, nobody really likes hearing this but... if you have a THF friend and a WHM friend, you might want to consider leveling something other than BLU to round out your group. If you're going for seals specifically, then BLM THF WHM should be able to kill pretty much any seal NMs with a fair number of procs. Just yesterday, a friend and I were duoing for seals for some of our newer jobs as THF BLM, and nothing was really giving us any trouble.
When you're going for a really lowman seal group, you wanna make sure each member fills as many roles as possible. If the BLU isn't the tank, then they're really only good for 1/7 (maybe 2/7 if /NIN) procs and DD that you don't particularly need for seal NMs. With the right tank, BLU can heal, and with the right healer/build, BLU can tank, but other than that, they don't really bring much to the table. Quote: Once I lay the groundwork on my TP set and get my CW burn set in order... And STR set And STR-AGI set And STR-MND set And STR-DEX set And STR-VIT set And DEF-STR-VIT set And INT set And INT-MND set And INT-CHR set And INT-Skill Set And Skill-INT Set And Max HP set And Vorpal Set And Savage Blade Set And Sanguine Set And Cure Potency-MND-VIT Set And TP-PDT Set And PDT-TP Set And Fast Cast/Haste set Ninja Edit And Refresh-Idle set I think then ill look at Evade sets ^_^. ftfy Quote: When you're going for a really lowman seal group, you wanna make sure each member fills as many roles as possible. In a lowman seal group (3 is how I do everything) BLU/WHM is basically a given to cover as many procs as possible. BLM/BRD and a NIN/THF/NIN whatever. This leaves 3 spells not covered. Banish III, Holy and Dispel. Insinuating a BLU healer requires a specific tank is also not true. Blue Mage is easily the second most effective healer against a WHM. I can plen embrace for 900+ with correct atmas and natively have more refresh/fast cast available. I have handled MNK/WAR+THF tanks in a 3 man a number of times as BLU/WHM. On top of all this you can throw in some offensive spells MP permitting. ^ Thanks for explaining why cure4 for SCH and RDM is completely unacceptable.

Yeah, well, and think about Blm99/rdm49 <.< cure IV, refresh, haste, convert, better nukes ; ; What about a 99Smn/rdm? <.< Hell, even Pld99/rdm49 ; ; I miss my rdm <.< need more whining to the official forums, looks like it works out lol On a side note, i'll have to try blu/whm as main healing in abyssea after reading that, it gets bored being on whm everyday, miss my offensive rdm's evil part ; ; Quote: ^ Thanks for explaining why cure4 for SCH and RDM is completely unacceptable. Considering it is exactly 1 tier behind BLM on Nukes, it makes no sense why it would not be 1 tier behind WHM on cures considering. Should have got Cure V at 80 for RDM, SCH/PLD some time in the 90s. 50% cure potency + 360470740 mnd cure5's on my WHM hit for ~1200 inside abyssea, same gear cure4's hit for ~600
Yeah. Quote: was considering the time it would take to break at least 300 elemental which would take....subbing SCH? Asura.Kaitaru said: » Regardless, how does one reach 900 heals on plen embrace? Ive never seen anything on blu/whm, anyone care to educate me in its ways? Though im sure i can finish blm before i get the load of gear to reach those heals. MND/VIT set with Light Staff + Serpentes set + Atma of the Rscuer & Atma of Harmony =~35% (and some Fast Cast)
Add Cruor buffs and that's pretty much it with a third atma on Refresh. I may try 3 stat atmas and forgo the Refresh just to see how high I can get. We do massively lack Cure potency gear but I am sure there is more I am missing. P.S this will be zone dependant as the Cruor boosts from higher zones increase. Last time I did it, I noticed that Allures MND+ meant only slightly less cure than Harmony and with a nice -Enmity (plenilune is not like Cure V, you will pull hate lol) Extra note: It does cast slower (mostly animation I think) than a WHM. You must account for this with Fast Cast trait and being on the ball, but it is more MP efficient. Something has just crossed my mind though. Anyone know what the -enmity cap and how close MM takes you to it?
Asura.Kaitaru said: » Though sometimes i wonder what se was thinking with the whole make 4 jobs useful and the rest not so much. Im sure its not that big of a problem with more ppl but when doing lower tier and even higher tier nms just require procs, a nin and a whm while the rest watch which is what ive seen so far. This being due to fear of feeding the mob tp, i miss the days when you would see all the melees on a mob. Regardless, how does one reach 900 heals on plen embrace? Set some MND spells. Allure and rescuer atma is pretty good. Too bad P.embrace generates lots of hate if you spam it though. |
