BLU Recast (windower)

Is there an up-to-date recast for windower?
90% my spells are Unknown-Ablity...

The site never has anything new and I don't trust the forums in there.

Where do you put the updated XML file? I tried 4 diff places and it still won't work for me.

Replace it with the resources.xml file that's in the same place as your recast.dll(your plugins folder).

I did that but its not updating. Everything is still "Unknown spell"

Screw it. I dont -need- recast. iirc this is why I didnt use it before.

I don't know then. I updated using this after you bumped it and it works for me. Are you sure you updated the right xml? It's possible that you overwrote the wrong xml. I did that once when I first tried to update resources.

I overwrote the only xml in the plugins folder, and it was named resources. I even deleted the resources FOLDER and all files called resources in my windower directory, completely relogged into FFXI and it said UPDATED in the console as it loaded, and it still shows UNKNOWN SPELL.

Ok. What spell are you using?

Occultation, Battery Charge, Plenilune Embrace, Magic Barrier, etc. Just trying to update it to where nothing appears as "Unknown Spell" or "Unknown Ability".

Rinomaru says he got his to work...I'm doing everything as I should, I can't think of why it just won't work for me. I'd ask Rino but he isn't online (forums or in-game) atm.

I got mine to work too. I don't know why it doesn't work. Maybe try restarting FFXI? I dunno at this point. Maybe go ask the Windower devs. They'd know better than me.

Everytime I try to update it I restart FFXI :/

Was browsing through threads and saw this. I had a lot of trouble with this when I updated it too. Make sure you unload your plugins before updating. I tried tons of times failing everytime because I didn't unload the plugins I was trying to update and it kept reverting. Hope this helps.

to unload you can either

1) Press [insert] key (or whatever you have to open the console) and then type "unload <program name>" (without the "" or <>)

or

2) type "//unload <program name>" (without the "" or <>) <<If you use this one you can type it directly into ffxi without opening the windower console.

Sometimes the console is HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE and you have have to capitalize specific parts of the word(s) example:

//unload spellcast
or
//unload Spellcast
or
//unload SpellCast

there is also a reload function which unloads and loads it back up (useful if you need to make minor .xml adjustments for spellcast). It's basically the same thing except you type "reload" instead of unload. example:

//unload spellcast

Make sure the <!--T0000001286782263--> matches the number in resources.ver, otherwise you need to change it. So the number should be 0000001286782263 in resources.ver.

I also think my resources is outdated gdi.
