Well, I've been at it with my RDM for a while now, and I've kinda hit a roadblock where I don't see many Auction House items I could get to improve myself other than the obvious +7 Stat rings, +4 stat earrings, etc. However before I start saving up for those, I want to see if there's something else I'm missing out on currently. Please view my gear sets and give advice to help me improve further. This is for a mostly solo Red Mage. Thanks, I appreciate it!

Idle
INT Potency Enfeebling
MND Potency Enfeebling
Nuking Potency
Curing
Magic Damage Reduction
Enhan./Spike/Enspell
Stun/Haste/Flash

Mederi Talar has Conserve MP+2, Magic Evasion+3, and Fast Cast+5. My spellcast XML uses that and Warlock's Chapeau as precast pieces. Also, you may be wondering why some sets are missing earrings, that's because my macros just don't use earrings for those slots/macros, due to inventory space restrictions. Also, my Magic accuracy builds don't really differ from the potency builds except for using Elemental/Spider Torque and Balrahn's Ring, or Estoqueur's Sayon +1 in place of Augur's Jaseran.

If you're already idling in Terra's/Twilight torque, maybe you should add a Cheviot/Umbra Cape to it? At least that's what i have on my whm,I also idle in Serpentes set too.

Yeah that actually is on my wishlist, I think I should buy one. I've been wondering though, it says "Hidden Effect: Physical Damage Taken -10% at night", does that mean +10%, for 15% total? Or just 10% total?

This is My nuking set atm. I have found that at this time teal beats out augurs all tho it is minimal. I would up grade your rings and belt for max damage. Other then that unless your buying a Novio then not much else you can do off AH.

AH only upgrades is what he asked so not going for pure dmg on that. Duelist's boots +1 would be something I would put if going for what I wanted as a nuking set.

Truthfully with current end-game in Abyssea, you really don't need to carry around much MACC gear. Take that into account if you are bursting with inventory (which any good RDM normally is).

Yeah I suppose teal does beat Augur's with so much INT stacked from Atma/Abyssites, etc. Outside I'm guessing Augur's might still be better though.

Also I'm real close to Morrigan's Robe, just need the 25 piece. I've tried a couple times at Augur's feet too for dark magic set, they dropped 2/3 times, go figure when I reserved them they didn't... lol

Also I thought that beautiful...err... ugly but useful subligar came from only the Tenshodo box, didn't even see the quest. Time to spam it!

Well with Shell 5 I'm already at near 50%, so I'm looking for more of actual MDB than MDT-.

24.2+3+2+2+4+4+5+5=49.2, So the best option is to drop one of the 2% items and add Hexerei Cape, then add something with MDB on the slot I changed. (or other slots obviously)

Duelist's Tabard for your precast set would be optimal.

Umbra/Cheviot Cape should be in your idle set, might also want to work on some 4+/4+ rings from Konschtat. I personally use an Orochi Nodawa and have a seperate full PDT set for Twilight Torque.

Should get a Karka Ring(6MND 1Macc) for your MND builds.

Think it's been mentioned but Cognition Belt is your best bet for INT setups. Also Teal Saio may out damage Augur's Jaseran for your nukes.

EDIT: This is a stretch but Galdr Ring is one of the best nuking rings out there(6INT/1MAB). Just beware that my LS has only had 2 shadowed Yilbegans out of like 75+.

Can't really see much else wrong with it.

If you're worried about space, drop the hMP set you have. I find myself never resting on RDM(inside Abyssea and out).

Yeah, I pretty much did get rid of most of my resting stuff. It only really helps in salvage, and marginally at that. I'll at least stow the other hMP in my locker.

Your curing set could use work IMO..Not sure why you would use the clarus stone over the squa satchet .. the obvious surya's staff+2 > light staff

Maybe a sirona's ring over the bifrost , aquasoul ring (I believe was mentioned) raptor's strap+1 beats out the strap you have as well.. be back when I think of more..

Also augur's hands may be a better option dependant on what feet you have available

Edit: Not sure why you would use relic hat over af3 hat with the MND boost on af3 either for curing

No particular reason, Just figured the extra MND didn't count past a certain point with Cure IV. :/ Also I use Clarus Stone along with Austerity Belt to help counter extreme MP usage when people think MNK is a good tank, etc.

Really, 24 times the price, for only +1 to each element and +2HP/+2MP?

ACK- always always always higher curing potency rather then higher MP pool reserve >_>also you have forgotten a vit mod comes into play for cure 4 and you definitely havent hit the mnd cap with your current setup for cure 4

Edit: Also believe *not a numbers cruncher so math guys let me know* the cure potency % from fylgia (sp) torque MAY bring you higher numbers depending on your setup~ Just a thought
