got griffin claw atma today =D
So Mounted champion, Apoc, Griffon claw = good combo for caladbolg? I personally don't like Alpha and Omega as Dark Knight. Not an HP issue, but I just never felt a difference, even with the triple attack, I think Voracious Violet is generally a better atma.
A lot of Torcleaver'ers like to use Griffon's Claw or Mounted Champion, personally I never did. If for some reason I had to SA ws only, I'd just max Regain Atmas. But that's pretty much personal preference. As for actual advice on the gear, I doubt you need that Rajas ring on Weapon Skill, so that's another 7 Vitality available to you, and I'll advocate Aqua/Snow/(And apparently light?) belt over the Warwolf, I've seen TL:DR math that suggests you could go either way there, personally, if it's that much of a split, I'll just take the occasional conserve TP. It's not bad if you're just weapon skilling, but if you plan to melee, I always default to Razed Ruins, Apoc and Voracious Violet. Lakshmi.Mabrook said: I like VV/RR/Plaguebringer for DRK. I tried that under recommendation, and found it to be severely gimp compared to AoA, though I wasn't making any additional compromises to throw up a new xhit. Maybe that's just me trying to justify easymode RR3 though. Odin.Zicdeh said: I personally don't like Alpha and Omega as Dark Knight. I have done it a few time and it is very good. This way, you can take advantage of RR's 30% critical hit damage and the 5% from JT. And you can go with clawgriffon and either VV or Seadaughter (for idle tp gain) or Apoc (for triple attack and RR).
You should be able to put up 4-8k torcleaver depending on what you are fighting. The highest possible WS numbers will probably be from /THF Razed Ruins, Griffon's Claw and Apoc(Triple attack proc only).
Apoc can be subbed out for Smiting Blow, though that still leaves you with no Regain. The most practical, is probably Sea Daughter, Razed Ruins and Griffon's Claw. Lakshmi.Mabrook said: Odin.Zicdeh said: The most practical, is probably Sea Daughter, Razed Ruins and Griffon's Claw. Read previous posts for context on that, I know how that looks, but we were talking /THF and no active TP phase, just WS (which I disapprove of to begin with, but whatever) I don't have Torcleaver yet (still workin via shouts) but I have seen some pretty impressive aftermath crits which makes me believe that RR is a must have. I believe that AoA is incredible for the tripple attack/instastun as well. The third atma that I would use is VV for the obvious reasons. Again, I can't test these yet because of no Torcleaver, but i believe these are sound reasons for using them.
For just going in and ws, I think that /thf for dmg is decent, although /sam is great for sekka, hasso, meditate. The atma in those cases are situational though due to the pt you have. If there is a decent chance that you will pull hate and die, then i'd opt for AoA. If you are needed for stun / debuff, then i'd stay away from Sea Daughter due to the slow. If it's safe and straight up ws and back out with no need to cast, then i'd go VV,SD,GC. I would have got Moonshade with Regain if the effect wasn't only active with the weapon drawn.

Wut Lakshmi.Mabrook said: Would Sword Strap with the set up I said be better or is that walking backwards? Sword Strap is generally always better if you maintain xhit. Sorry for double post.... but you can always draw out weapon and keep your distance on mob or keep back turned. Problem solved Zid :D That kind of defeats the whole purpose of being close enough to attack though... Might as well just hit the damn thing, and then, I don't have a build that'll take advantage of the regain, and even if I did, it's still kind of Hit-or miss, and even THEN, I think people underestimate the+25TP bonus on Torcleaver-Fudo-Cloudsplitter. so i must ask since in coming in on getting my caldaborg what would be good atmas to use in these situations.
DD like exp or pwning ***in general/ but yet putting down good damage. leaning more to /sam but if a better sub what do u guys perfer. then the odd time where u just wanna run in toss a WS and gtfo. and yes talking /thf Gilgamesh.Crolion said: so i must ask since in coming in on getting my caldaborg what would be good atmas to use in these situations. I wonder if this is the best 7 hit Caladbolg build for now:
http://www.ffxiah.com/item-sets/214013 Incredible attack and DA during TP phase while maintaining capped haste, 7 hit, and able to WS in any gears. How does the sphere thing work, I dismissed it as some voidwatch gimmick and having been keeping up with.

Meaning if you are wearing the armor, ppl around you will get the effect of stp +6 including you. So yea, you can count on having that at all time wearing that armor.
I gotta ask between the 3 following hand options for torcleaver which would yall say to go with for those who have it to test with: Versa Mufflers with VIT+2, Heafoc Mitts or AFv3+1 Hands?
