How do people get 43k/hr? I think that's a bit of a boast. While 40k+/hr may be a bit of a boast (and a number I've yet to see if it is possible), numbers close-to are fairly manageable.  This PT used only the birds that pop on the bottom level. This pt had: BRD BRD RDM WAR75 WAR75 without any merits at all ftw >.> WAR72/SAM

As 72WAR/SAM you can get that in a nice pt.
But still pulling 2 birds from the top @75 is capped at around 25-27k/hr?

My last exp party I didn't have expwatch on (it crashes pol if I auto-load it) but I was told we were on 30k, and that's only fighting the colibri on the middle level, no mamool/wyverns/wivre or colibri from the bottom level.
(that was pld sam blu nin brd rdm btw, not your typical high damage tp burn)

personally I agree that if you aren't hasting me, and your meleeing, you're not in my party for long, but if you want to spam campaign outside of campaign, why not just spam campaign?

You can hit even higher than 40k/hr if you can control both bird pt.
Brd/Whm + Rdm/Whm

Brd/Nin
Have the top brd pull the top camp and the bottom brd pull the bottom camp. Any of the 3 melee can voke the top birds down. Melee always hang close to the cliff to get songs from top brd. March,March,MinIv,Mad, all 3 melee full time hasso = massive destruction of birds.

Thanks for bringing a new idea to the table.
As a 72RDM, I will look into the possibilities.
People used to thing that RDM/PLD and RDM/SCH was stupid.
The fact is, after people experimented with them, they learned that there was merit in the job combinations.
I love this game, because there are so many different options, ideas and things to try.
I'll give it a shot before I speak about it.

to max xp/hr you want to keep haste on melee @ all times as well as brd buffs and always have pulls there for the melee to kill.
easy to get 30k/hr with average geared people as long as they don't suck and know how to use seigan
rdm melee has no use except for soloing the odd nm with lvl 1 dagger using enspells

I've messed around with RDM/DNC and RDM/NIN, and it's not as bad as some people make it out to be.
If you're not HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE you shouldn't have issues keeping up Haste/Refresh/Steps/Cures and if you've got a support that doesn't mind erasing occasionally, Dia III.
With sword or dagger and MP merits and a haste setup, it's not awful at all.
I typically only do DD in merit parties when I'm screwing around with my friends, and never on anything but Colibri, but a decent setup would be:
Joyuse/Justice Sword,
Duelist's Chapeau (Yeah yeah, Walhara Turban, but don't underestimate where Refresh is concerned, MP will be tight),
Goli Body,
Morrigan's or Dusk Gloves,
Swift belt,
Amemet +1,
Nashira Seraweels,
Nashira Crackows,
Brutal, Suppa and acc. rings.
Like I said, MP is always tight if you're DDing, and it'll probably annoy the hell out of your BRDs, but it's alright DoT with enspells.
I don't think a RDM should ever neglect the DDs in their party for their own damage, but if you've got some lenient/experimental friends... try it, it's not as bad as you might think in the right party setup.
Just wanted to publicize how awesome this combo is for all my fellow bored merit-whoring RDM's.
Was rocking this out last night to the tune of 20k/hr at Nyzul> Bhafflau and we probably could have gotten higher if not for lost chains do to switching people in and out and the fact we were killing faster than repops.
Gearwise, I wore Haste where I could: Walmart turban, swift belt, goli body. The rest was just MP gear. Having a joyeuse is extremely important, pairing it with a brutal earring isn't necessary but is really helpful.
During fights I kept haste and refresh up on myself, along with Drain Samba II. There is no point to hasting DD's. Focus on keeping TP up for Waltz and Samba spam. You'll actually have to convert now and again as MP will be drained more swiftly than if you /mage job and were able to rest.
So why do this?
BRD and COR can focus solely on pulls and melee buffs. In turn, the party becomes more efficient since there is no need to focus on refresh songs or rolls. Birds last no more than 15 seconds with everyone wailing away and in the process as the RDM you're made more aware of what's going on since you're at the frontline.
This isn't going to work for everyone, however I just wanted to advertise this setup as an alternative to folks. It's a guarantee for bird camp, as for mamools I'll have to test but I can't see why it wouldn't. The only thing about mamool meripo's is that they're a bit more MP intensive on account of the cure spamming that needs to occur depending on pulls, links, and sleeps.
Anywho points made. Feedback encouraged. If anything I hope folks can have fun with this! :D
