Normally NMs that drop +2 items DO in fact drop one 100% of the time, unless these roaming ones are different. If that's the case, seems you hit a real stroke of bad luck.

Wah? Yellow opens up two more slots, at least I thought. And I know 1 stones is usually always 100% but these guys are new, and I heard some times they dont drop anything.

I always thought Grellow didnt increase drop rate, but only unlocked more slots for the pool to drop:

No Grellow = 1 Stone 100%
Grellow = 1 Stone 100% + X% to get up to 3 stones depending on luck.

We've had Grellow'd NMs that drop 1 or 2 seals, and for most of those kills it was because we had no TH at all in our little groups.

I dont have experience with the T2 NMs like Sobek/CC that havent been Grellowed, but I'm positive 1 is 100%, whereas you are required to proc grellow for even a chance at 2nd and third.

TL;DR: Only 1 stone is always gaurantee'd. Also I've heard of Empousa dropping nothing as well :<.

Edit: Shiomi beat me to it lulz

The roaming nms are not guaranteed to drop any +2 items. Yellow allows you two more chances to obtain either of the +2 items that it drops for a max drop of two each. Simple answer is roaming nms work differently than pop nms.

Btw I'd recommend you grab a whm and go do empousa instead.

Indrik is different than other +2 NMs. He drops 0-2 of two different items, unlike most that drop 1-3 and 0-1.

I was the only one fighting and didn't want to be there for a while so ya I popped it thinking I would be getting atleast 1 stone or coin since I had triggered. Whatever though it was fun regardless.

I want to start doing this guy as well. Do you just keep fighting him while he is in flying mode and have the whm cure bomb or do you kite?

Practically Duoed this on NIN with a WHM friend, SMN, THF, and DRK came to speed up the kill but can be done easy. Keep your HP high then when he starts getting close to one shotting you with the lance use Migawari, Recast is 2 minutes spell lasts a minute. With BRD and WHM and some haste gear you can get the recast to 1 minute 10 seconds. When the buff wears, turn around and back tank until its up again. Completely negates the 1 shotting lance attack, wipes shadows as well but just put it back up and wait for the recast on migawari again.

Long fight in a duo would probably take about 50~ minutes, took us about 30, they came in with the mob at 25% to finish it off. The Secondary stone is the one for NIN, the main +2 items are for THF, DRK, SMN, COR, and RNG.

Neeeeeecro.

I just tried my shot at this solo for the lols on NIN/DNC.

I couldn't hit him worth a crap, his accuracy made my shadows go bye-bye fast.

What -is- the best setup to taking out this friggin unicorn?

I'm after Taurine Cesti and i'm willing to let others have +2 items + belt.

Ichi-an / Kamome / Ungur Boomerang / none

Iga +1 / Evasion Torque / Suppanomimi / Brutal Earring

Loki's / Koga Tekko / Heed Ring / Rajas Ring

Atheling / Twilight / Iga +2 / Iga +1

Cloak & Dagger really helps with both lowering his hitrate and raising yours, and a good eva set really helps (especially an eva Sekka). Stalwart's Drink/Tonic are good for helping you land hits as well.

There's your problem. Even with support I use at least a partial eva set at all times for Indrik, though I also don't use an evasion atma in that case, just the usual RR/GH/Apoc.

I've done this guy a handful of times in the past week. I think the biggest thing you're missing is +2 nin feet - I do this guy with a pocket whm and migawari tank him - GH, RR, Apoc. That extra shadow helps a ton because his accuracy really is kind of obnoxious.

Iga head +2

Iga pants +2

Iga shoes +2

Dusk Gloves

Alcides harness

Iga neck

suppa and iga earring for combo dual wield and eva

Ungur boomerang

boxers mantle

No, the biggest thing isn't iga kyahan+2, but iga kyahan+2 is quite helpful.
The biggest thing is a pocket whm.
